MKV is Matroska files right? I use VLC or Media Player Classic for those.

You can convert them at media-convert.com to a more suitable format if you cannot play them properly.

Agreed on that one. And you really don't need any other player besides WMP 11 if you have CCCP installed. I play all my files on it, and it works like a charm. So no need to d/l media player classic or vlc. Just get CCCP and you're good to go.
