Personally I'd like to get around 10 or so but I only get around 7 or 8 or sometimes even 5. I hate sleeping though, I'd much rather be doing something else and I'm pissed when I wake up late.
How about you?
How many hours of sleep can you get by on a night?
On school nights I generally get around 6 hours, and that's what I need to function on a usual day. I can do five or even four, but on those days it's very difficult to even keep my head up during lectures (not that it's easy even when I get a full night's sleep).
" @CitizenKane said:" I usually get around 7 hours of sleep, but I can get through the next day 100% on 5 hours. "Same. I try for 7-8 a night and I try to keep it consistant for about 12-1 am usually "
7-8 hours is what I want mostly.
I get around 4-5 though but I can still get through the day without any problems.
On average maybe 3 - 4 when I have to get up early the next day, but on weekends and days that I'm free I'll get 8 - 9.
I've always been a bit odd when it comes to sleep, 8 is my absolute bare minimum to function the next day, my work at school used to really suffer if I got any less. I try to keep it at 9 though for me to be working at 100%. When I started uni I used to sleep for 12 hours, but then I realised that wasn't really healthy.
I go to school and have usually 7 hours of sleep but i prefer about 9-10. Honestly 9-10 seems like the sweet spot for me when it comes to sleeping. My sleep schedule gets messed up every weekend however, so it takes me some time every week to re-adjust.
I can go a few days sleeping just 4-5 hours a night, but it's not ideal and after two days of it I'm starting to feel it. I usually try for a solid 8 hours, and 10 if I have nowhere to go or nothing that needs doing.
4 is what I normally run on. My bare minimum seems to be 2, but at that point I feel pretty shitty the whole day even though I can function. Whenever I have a day off I'll sleep for about 12, but sometimes I get wrapped up in something and I don't sleep for two days. It's weird, but it works.

I will sleep as long as I can get. To make a point, I will state my usual. I get around 6 hours (but sometimes 3 or 4) and I sleep till noon or later on Saturdays. Sundays I am up by 8. and then I start the cycle over. If I feel drained, I have been known to go to bed at 6 in the evening. However, I rarely feel drained, but I have noticed other physical ailments like my muscles giving out and me not being to concentrate as well.
lol 9 hours or else i fall asleep in class. my classes are that boring. i need to take honors classes, these classes are too sloooow because everyone in it doesnt care or is extremely unintelligent.
I've gotten through an entire day of classes (from 8 to 3) on 2 hours of sleep once. Never want to go through that again. Dozed off for like 10 minutes in one class & woke up to find drool over my face. Not a good look lol.
Bare minimum for me would be like 4-5, where I can function normally. 7 or 8 is optimal and 9+ is amazing.
" I always aim for 8 at least. I can function perfectly well on 6 to 7, but I like sleeping. "
6-8 is my regular I guess. I can hang for about half a day on 3 hours or less, but things will get fuzzy by the time the evening starts.
I like to have a good 9 hours whenever possible, but it's never guaranteed. I can get by without too many ill effects at 5 hours. At four hours it becomes obvious I haven't slept much. At three hours I stop making sense to other people. Two and below means I've stayed up all night, and I've fallen asleep on a bus or wherever I was travelling to. I also kinda experience some kind of survival-mode, where I get really energetic and kooky. But I still don't make a lot of sense to people.
I remember a good photography class in high school once. I had stayed up all night that night, and when we were given the opportunity to use the dark room, I basically crawled under one of my friends' photo enlargers and slept while they worked. It was nice. Then people started joining me underneath the workstation, and we had an impromptu Beatles jam, due in part to my delirium. That's when we got caught for slacking.
Man those were the days.
Normally I try to get at least 7 on weeknights and somewhere around 9 or 10 on weekends. As for what I can get by on, I would say somewhere around 5 hours, although I'll be exhausted towards the end of the day. I have gone through an entire day after having an all-nighter without taking any naps, but at that point I might as well be a zombie.
I've gotten by on three, on one occasion. It's what inspired me to write my first rape analogy paragraph. I am not kidding.

I can do five or even four, but on those days it's very difficult to even keep my head up during lectures (not that it's easy even when I get a full night's sleep). "Basically this. If I have a couple days in a row of 4-5 hours of sleep, the fatigue will start to hit me bad and I will either sleep in a class or skip out on going to gym for the day.
I need at least 7-8 if I don't want to nod off during class. Right around 10-11 hours ruins my entire day because I'll wake up feeling like a lazy shit, and I'll end up procrastinating the day away until I muster up the courage to feed and bathe myself. After this, I feel tired again so I usually end up going to bed earlier than normal.
I've done 3, but it sucks. Any less, and it's better for me to just stay up for another day. I usually get 5 to 6 hours of sleep, but I function best with about 7 1/2. With that much sleep I don't need any caffeine to stay functional for the remaining 16 1/2 hours, though a cup of coffee still doesn't hurt.
I prefer to get 7, but I can make it through 2 days in a row on 5 hours a night. I'll usually crash on the third day of 5 hours or less, though. Might have to throw in a nap or two in the process as well. If I get 6 a night, then I can be fine for the entire week... but once the weekend rolls around I generally sleep more than I usually would if I had been getting 7 or more a night.
