You are too much of a best for this poll to contain.

Anyway, I'd have to say Federer. Just consistent dominance.

I didn't spot Lim Yo-Hwan on that list so, frankly, you should feel pretty ashamed.

If Jordan was cloned and forced to play any other sport, I'd think we'd see similar results. He just got old, so much damn talent though.

This poll lacks Donald Bradman. I know jack shit about cricket, but according to a study comparing how many standard deviations some dominant athletes stood above the mean in their sport. Bradman was first, with 4.4. While it's perfectly possible to disagree with the logic used here, I'd say it's worth having the dude as an option.

The stats are in his wiki article.

Lots of good athletes on that list, too tough of a decision really. I voted for Tiger because how young he is and how he is already shattering all PGA records. He has such a long life ahead of him too, those records and money totals are going to be rediculous by time he is actually finished.

I really wanted to vote for Jordan though, he was the man.

You guys are all on crack. Wayne Gretzky is THE correct answer, the man has half the records of the NHL and most of these records will NEVER be beaten.

215 pts in season, are you kidding me? Nowadays, if we get a guy who gets a 100pts in a season, we're all excited.

No Bill Russell, he won 11 championships, five more than Jordan. I think two of those were as coach. Did Jordan do that?

It's true that Bill Russell had more rings but he was playing in a much earlier time, so the competition was much easier. For most of his career (and during 8 of his championship wins), there were only 9 teams in the NBA total.

@Mordukai: I'm Canadian. And while I admit Pele is a football great, he didnt dominate the sport, he just got more attention because he played in the US.

Alexander Karelin, the old Rooskie wrassler who didn't lose a match for like 15 years, until fatty American Rulon Gardner powerbombed his ass in the 2000 Olympics.

It's a tough decision between Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods.  Lance won 7 consecutive Tour de France races and Tiger has won ~25% of all the events he has played in.  Both are definitely the most dominant athletes today.

It's weird how little I care for Armstrong & respect Woods. I practically think Woods is a cheater ever since he got eye surgery.

This. Usain Bolt is one of the fastest 100 meter runner. It's really amazing how fast he is.
