Scientists: Universe is giant "3D Hologram"
"serbsta said:Lol, i wasnt being sarcastic, i seriously want to know what he knows that hasnt been said in this thread. :)"adam_grif said:Please, not in the "i dont think you really know" kind of way but in a " i want to learn more about this" kinda way.""The lack of scientific understanding in this thread is mind-boggling."Ok, then tell us what you know. :)"

I'll let this thread speak for itself:
Lots of these sciences are with huge assumptions. Hell, the Big Bang Theory is essentially a theory stating "we don't know" (they just see a big light very far away = explosion = start----> yea, that's hwo the universe started... wait, that's what ahppened as a result...woops)
Right, so how much was spent on this research? I hate it when people take money that could be used towards fixing something and instead use it to find out stupid shit.
Wait wait, so first the earth was flat, and that was proven wrong. And now the universe is flat? Dope! Stay away from the edges, kids.
we're holograms... makes sense. Probably explains why we're all defective.
Do holograms feel pain?
No.
Case solved.
This post is an interesting idea though, I'm not sure If I'm sold on it, but I like the idea of the theory. I always wonder if everything science has "proven" is wrong. Damn near everything is a theory, only few ideas get turned into laws.
If I am a hologram, why don't I just pass through walls, huh?!?!?!?
Answer that, smarty-pants Physicists.
How to we know thatr the universe isn't 20-dimensional?
The fact that holograms exist on certain credit cards is actually not a very good reason to believe the entire universe is an enormous hologram.
These scientists are big dummies.
I think, therefore ......... There is truely only one Guaruntee in existance " Things Change " whether changed buy us in life or death or by forces beyond our comprehension we know we can expect " Change "
"I'll let this thread speak for itself:Heh, looks like someone actually took a Biff comment seriously.

But still, what do you think about this theory?
I see what you mean... +1 for you for pointing out the stupidity.I don't know enough about it, nor the background information required to understand it properly.
But still, what do you think about this theory?"
It's a newscientist article, which, although an interesting magazine (I used to read it every week in senior high school during my free periods), is not peer reviewed, and is prone to exaggeration and selective coverage biases.
If it survives the peer review process, then I will respect it. Until then, I approach it with extreme skepticism.
I'm also thinking that "the universe is a hologram" is just a metaphorical claim, not a literal statement that someone things this is a literal hologram.
