Share your favorite local (to you) bands

Just an idea to help share the music of local bands in your area! 
 
What are some of your favorites from where you live?  
 
I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and there are two local bands that I want to share. I WOULD post a link to a song from them, but I'm staying in the country at my parents place right now where they only have dial up :(.  
 
1. The Museum Pieces. This band is really folky and their singer has a really weird thing going on with his lower range. Weird, but awesome. I highly reccommend a listen to these songs:  
 
"It Keeps Me Up" 
"We Search for Arrowheads" 
"Avalon Sank" (Beautiful piece) 
 
2. Wintersleep. A band that plays a lot around Halifax, they have come to be known as having a really sad guitar, some pretty messed up riffs and dreamy vocals. I've seen them livea few times and let me tell you... amazing. Reccommendations: 
 
"Nerves Normal, Breath Normal" (LISTEN, NOW.) 
"Weighty Ghost" 
"Miasmal Smoke and the Yellow Bellied Beast"

Not local to me, but Swear By This is a pretty good band from Colorado. Gave me 5 CD's to pass out to my friends for $5. Love those guys...

Modest Mouse was from my town.

If you like loud, fast rock n' roll then check out the Loaded Nuns, they are awesome guys.

Bang Camaro are from Boston, they've been a favorite of mine since Guitar Hero II.
