Just an idea to help share the music of local bands in your area!
What are some of your favorites from where you live?
I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and there are two local bands that I want to share. I WOULD post a link to a song from them, but I'm staying in the country at my parents place right now where they only have dial up :(.
1. The Museum Pieces. This band is really folky and their singer has a really weird thing going on with his lower range. Weird, but awesome. I highly reccommend a listen to these songs:
"It Keeps Me Up"
"We Search for Arrowheads"
"Avalon Sank" (Beautiful piece)
2. Wintersleep. A band that plays a lot around Halifax, they have come to be known as having a really sad guitar, some pretty messed up riffs and dreamy vocals. I've seen them livea few times and let me tell you... amazing. Reccommendations:
"Nerves Normal, Breath Normal" (LISTEN, NOW.)
"Weighty Ghost"
"Miasmal Smoke and the Yellow Bellied Beast"

A couple of good bands/acts around here:
Oh. And myself, of course. I'll link you to that when I've finished recording my newer material though.
If you like loud, fast rock n' roll then check out the Loaded Nuns, they are awesome guys.
Oh yea, VILLEBILLIES!

The Format Prob my Fav band of all time.
Jimmy Eat World Another Good one.
I'll do a band page and the song I think you should listen to the most.

The Spoilers - Simple fast punk rock

"slightly stoopid nice one. The Expendables they are from santa cruz california you cunt muscles check them out "
The Expendables are wayyyy legit for sure. Check out Rebelution if you've never heard them. They're from Santa Barbara. They just came out with a new album, but their older one (Courage to Grow) is the best one to check out.
It's one guy, Daniel Victor who plays all of the instruments and has another musician featured on every track like Dallas Green from Alexisonfire and City and Colour for the song: The Grace.
Check it out.
Unfortunately I don't really like any of the original local bands around here.
