I saw the opposite go down in high school. A guy who did not know this girl walked up and gave her a note after class and ran off. He was basically just asking her out, but the way he did it- the note, in front of her friends, didn't say a word to her.. was so awkward.. all she could do was sort of chuckle and look down at the note. What was she supposed to say? Confess her love as he walked away? You aren't a dick.. people just say that because, well, a girl came up to you and this is the internet. They are just as socially awkward as she is and have a long, hard life ahead of them. "

Also, the girls that are awkward and "weird" in high school are frequently the ones that are the hottest when they get to college and beyond.
