  • This game is awesome.  I don't understand how you can play it on a console tho, seems like too much.  The community is starting to develop stuff now, there are a lot of maps out there.  There are only a handful of populated servers at any given time, but its ok, cuz i generally find the game i want at a low ping.  Whats missing is all the bells and ...

  • I thought Grim Fandango was a greatly artistic game.  It's instantly remembered for it's artistic visual, musical and narrative style.  I also think that game was more of a trail blazer as far as art in games goes.  It was released significantly earlier.  For me my memories of Grim Fandango are far fonder than Shadow, though i do really like Shadow.

You can't hide from the Grim Reaper. Especially when he's got a gun. You know, sweetheart, if there's one thing I've learned, it's this: nobody knows what's gonna happen at the end of the line, so you might as well enjoy the trip.

So i made a forum post under the sex page to see how many funny names people can come up with for sex and the moderators locked it up almost immediately.  I didnt intend for the forum post to be overly vulgar, just funny and abstract.  I guess the moderators are touchy about sex.  I was under the impression that we were free to express ourselves as long as we didnt get out of control.  Are funny names for sex really out of control?  Maybe that post is an invitation for people to get rowdy, but i didnt see it like that.  Oh well.  my heart is slightly broken.

Maybe i've been watching too many movies and playing to many games, but its occurred to me that too many movies, games and books assault you with one (or several) moral imperatives.  They set up a situation, with some kind of moral theme, where our hero or anti-hero usually messes up in the beginning, and by the end reforms to comply by said moral imperative to which the entire story was a foil for.  This gets old quick and its easy to spot whether your conscious of it or not.  You'll be able to call the movie or whatever out from the beginning.  I do it all the time and i'm sure that whoever, if anybody, is reading this does it too.  My point is, though, that movies, books and games are art.  They are the art of our time and art, like life, exists in a realm of some level of ambiguity.  We live in a world of moral and directional ambiguity, its the lense we see through.  When that kind of uncertainty is incorperated into the art we enjoy it allows us to own that art; it allows us to connect with the story reguardless of how off the wall it is and reguardless of its format.  It occurs to me when somebody is using a book, movie, game, a piece of music, what have you, to simply serve up a point then they are either preaching, patronizing you, or trying to sell you something... maybe even all three.  All my favorite games, movies, music and whatever make me laugh, make me think, make me wonder.  They arent so clear cut.  If they were, what would there be to think about at all.

Could have been so much more. (X360)
Everything about Assassin's Creed looks brilliant.  The art style is inspired, the interface is simple, yet effective, the free running concept is well implemented and fun to do, and the fighting mechanism is also fun and engaging.  At face value Assassin's Creed is a five star game, and I would ...
