I really liked Moon by duncan jones. Was just great to look at.
What are the most exquisitely shot films?
I just watched Drive again. Pretty by-the-book, but there's some outstanding cinematography in there.
It's been said, but it bears repeating: Anything at all directed by Terrance Malick.
Mystery Train is a really well shot flick by Jim Jarmusch in the heart of Memphis.
Glengarry Glen Ross is a tight, claustrophobic movie
Citizen Kane is an obvious one and easily near the top of best shot movies
Rear Window is ambitious and scrumptious to watch
The Third Man is a perfect film, and good lord is it imaginatively shot-- beautiful, stark black and white noir at its best.

Hard Boiled is good all around, but specifically the single shot section in the hospital, the choreography that went into this is amazing.
Yessssssssssss!
I'm also a fan of Oldboy-- the hallway fight sequence is stupendous.
Also! Basically anything shot by Jack Cardiff is going to be worth a look in one way or another. 'The Red Shoes' is a great example of this (Black Swan is basically an Argento-esque take on this film). He worked a lot with Powell and Pressburger. Black Narcissus is probably one of the most famous films he shot, although for more recent films check out Rambo: First Blood Part II. Here's a classic photo of him! http://www.imdb.com/media/rm314816768/nm0002153
@Liquidus: Oh, god, Black Swan. I feel like a criminal for not mentioning it.
@RockyRaccoon37: Same for Rear Window. I mean, as we said, Hitchcock and Kubrick are probably the two most obvious answers (I'd argue Malick is just as obvious) but damn me if Rear Window isn't just fantastically shot top-to-bottom.
@iizcallum: Your recommendations are interesting and therefore valuable. Looper has some really outstanding shots in the set-up, but I feel like everything after the scene where the Joes meet in the diner is shot pretty by-the-book. Well, and that last shot of JGL Joe is pretty outstanding too.
(FYI...Hype Williams shamelessly ripped off this sequence for Kayne West's "All of the Lights" video)
I have no fucking clue what this movie was about or what was going on...but this is a goddamn amazingly shot film. I've never taken DMT, but I now really want to after seeing this movie. Gaspar Noe's previous film Irreversible is also....really goddamn disturbing. I did not need to see a ten minute rape scene that looked fucking real. I almost got physically ill watching it.
Anything by Tarkovsky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dweiGyjxhHs
If you're willing to watch French films from the 1930's The Rules of the Game is the best shot film I've ever seen.
Can't believe no one mentioned Barry Lyndon, that film is like a moving painting. Everything Kubrick and Hitchcock shot blows me away everytime I see it, and like Little_Socrates says, they're probably the most obvious answers.
Also, Paul Thomas Anderson's camera work always leaves me speechless (I have yet to see The Master). Emmanuel Lubezki's work on Children Of Men, and especially The Tree Of Life, is fucking gorgeous. Another film I always mention in these discussions is Last Tango In Paris, Vittorio Storaro's best work in my opinion, even surpasing Apocalypse Now.

Antichrist and Melancholia by Lars von Trier...seriously, lookatthisshit!
I really, really didn't like Melancholia, but Antichrist was definitely one of the best looking films I've ever seen. Completely ridiculous ending though. Ugh. Scissors and a 2x4...
I actually thought Melancholia was better than Antichrist (although I love both). The constant rumbling of the meteor, like a dark presence that kept intensifying throughout the movie, litterally setting a tone of utter melancholia, until finally it all culminates and then just silence...dude, that movie was fucking awesome!:D
Since all the heavy hitters have already been put out there, I will put forth these:
Barry Lydon
The Matrix
Inception
Fight Club
Metropolis
Django Unchained
Blade Runner

Lawrence of Arabia
This, I can't believe it took 4 pages to mention. An amazing movie to behold. The best movie ever made in my opinion (not my personal favorite, however).
Another I'd suggest is The Last Emperor (1987). I think a lot of people have forgotten about this movie. It really is a fantastic film in every sense of the word.
