What about a Elite Light Gamer?

" I think anyone who considers themself 'elite' is a wanker. "why? cause they are all better than you?
But yea this chart is super messed up.
Like the time two parts are confusing lol.
I'm with Zinth.
Personally I play a lot of games, and invest obscene amounts of time doing so. I like both extremely simple games and very esoteric games. But I don't play for points and I'm not very competitive or completionist.
I'm a light gamer
I only have sophisticated controls and I do try and nab games off Amazon. But that's it.
I don't really care for comics nor anime, I don't find achievements worth chasing and long loadingtimes annoys me. I never read hint books (Finalt Fantasy VII excluded on fourth playthrough), games I love gets bought on releaseday (I know, i know, I can't love it before I have tried it, but you know what I mean you gamer you) and I don't mind watching other play, as long as I can have a say.
" That list is dumb. How can "Likes to clear games quickly" and "Likes to play at their own pace" both be in the Elite gamer category? They contradict each other. "Elite gamers are complicated people.
I'm more an Elite Gamer, but I kinda disagree with the table up there.
No way I'm clearing games fast, paid good money for them to last!
I've always known it ;)" @MysteriousBob said:

I'm more on the light gamer side of things.
Although:
- I like to strategise, and only read faqs when i find myself frustrated.
- I look for info not in magazines, but in gaming websites like Giantbomb.
- And I like to see others play, but generally when the game doesn't hold any particular interest for me.
Lol virtual love. Elite gamers sound like pathetic basement dwellers if this list is to be believed. I love games and play them a lot but I like a lot of other stuff (I have no interest in comics and actively avoid anime by the way) but anyone who would puts any kind of energy into hating on casual or hardcore gamers is either an elitist prick or just really dense.
I disagree with that table. Why would enjoying long load times and bad control schemes make someone an elite gamer? To me that sounds more like a masochist. And what the hell does anime have to do with being a gamer? And clearing a game quickly doesn't have to do with it either.
Elite gamer sounds like an outright wanker and light gamer a total tool. This poll is a lose-lose.
And playing games at your own pace but clearing them quickly is a contradiction.
your table chart is messed up, i dont watch or read anime, yet im an elite gamer at least i think so because i spend 5+ hours a day gaming, hate losing, usually is top 3 players in any game
" @Jack268:So you made a poll in which neither of the answers are actually applicable to anyone.

No you don't fucking thank me.
Was this supposed to be funny? Was I supposed to laugh at this?
What, what is this shit?

The fact that it doesn't generally apply to anyone is due to the way the values are calculated, and the conclusions taken.
The same can be said about any other statistical study. The accuracy of each study is never certain, and depends greatly on the method taken.
And put it here so people can think a bit about themselves, and their own habits, and discuss it. Not to fit perfectly each mould, as every person follows different behaviours.

Do you think i'm ignorant?
Is that what this is?
Cuz we'll do this. We'll do this right here and now.
Come on. I'm not afraid to die.

Because that is how animals fight.
And that's all we are is god damn animals.
This seems to pretty much be a play on the casual gamer vs. core gamer concept but the table seems massively flawed. Comics books and anime have nothing to do with video games, it's stupid to assume a core gamer would prefer "virtual" love to real love, the kind of person they're describing as a "light gamer" wouldn't read strategy guides, virtually no gamer enjoys load times, almost no gamer solely seeks out games hoping they are free, plenty of core gamers have no great interest in achievements, the majority of core gamers understand that more complex controls don't necessarily make for a better game, statistics show that core gamers are much more likely to get their information on games from the web and not magazines, there are very few core gamers who buy every game they are interested in on the release date, and as Matty pointed out clearing a game quickly and playing through at your own pace are two opposite things.
If I had to categorize myself based on that I guess I'd be half way between light gamer and gamer elite but this table makes sweeping generalisations and in many places is just nonsensical.
"That list is dumb. How can "Likes to clear games quickly" and "Likes to play at their own pace" both be in the Elite gamer category? They contradict each other. "I would agree; that part makes absolutely no sense.
As for me, I would consider myself somewhere in between; I'm probably closer to elite, but a lot of those categories don't apply to me. For example, when it comes to achievements / trophies, I only try to do them just to do it ("Dastardly" in Red Dead Redemption) or if they're really easy (Most of InFAMOUS' trophies).
This list is... strange... I guess I'd be somewhere int he middle but I clicked elite because I've done most on that list. I play when i get the chance, and I play my own way and don't care about time, I like complicated controls because it makes things interesting.. but..yeah, list his very flawed.
I dont like the title Elite and I am definitively not casual. I play a ton of games and they are my life, but those specifications you have are messed up.
Waiting excitedly at load times as a rule? Thats stupid! I don't leave a game just because they have long load times but it does not mean I enjoy them, just because normal people don't enjoy some things does not mean that "Elite" gamers are compelled to enjoy them by the the laws of gamery.
To conclude, I disagree strongly with Masanobu Endu on this topic.
