I enjoy them, but the draw back of being called a hipster sucks.
What are your thoughts on Fedoras?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Formal suit, vest and a fedora can look pretty sharp on some people. But with casual wear? Naw. Not my thing.
I think they shouldn't be worn unless you're a detective with a trench coat or a mobster with a tommy gun, but in those situations look goddamn awesome.
"Hipster" has become an utterly meaningless term. Anyone using it might as well be saying, "Please don't listen to me". (apparently that goes for the attitude of some duders in this thread as well.)
Clothes exist in a modern context to make us feel cool. Find was does that for you, and you're golden.
Wearwutchyalike.
It's not my thing but it's your head and your looks and your style. If you think you look good in a fedora, go for it.
I have no idea why some people are such dicks about it though. I mean, if I had my way there would be nothing fancier than nice blue jeans and a polo shirt, so obviously I'm not terribly conscious of fashion trends or whatever, but what's so wrong with a fedora?
Buncha fashion police itt. Wear what you like, or nothing at all. You may want to look into local ordinances before trying that last bit.

*Tips Fedora again*
Literally all I can think of when someone mentions or I see a fedora. Goddamn you, internet.
Wear what you want. The assholes who judge people by what they wear on their head or how they style their beard doesn't really matter. In fact, the people who instantly judge you by how you look and what you wear are most likely people you don't want to get to know anyway. I would wear one if I could pull it off, which I am sure I cannot. I do pull off a sixpence though, so I wear that when I'm outside.
The only thing worse than people who wear fedoras are people that wear bowties. If you want to be a part of that group, then go for it, I'm not going to hold you back.
It looks really cool on a small portion of the population. Most people that wear them think they are in that portion. They are not.
I got pretty big into Film Noir back in the early 2000s (and I'm still a fan), so I bought a nice black one. Whenever I need to wear a suit I also wear the fedora. I'm not sure why they got such a bad name recently, but if someone is willing to stereotype others based solely on what they wear, then I don't care very much about their opinion on the matter.
Fedora's what?
I'm fairly certain the OP is asking for opinions on some restaurant named Fedora's.
I wouldn't ever really say I "enjoy" a hat of any sort.
I don't think those styles of hat go with what a lot of people today seem to wear them with, but ultimately it doesn't matter. Wear whatever hat you like. Just don't wear a hat indoors (Unless you're a PI or an early-1900s gangster). That's maybe even worse than sunglasses.
Grown men shouldn't wear hats.
this is wrong
I don't think the archetypal "hipster" wears fedoras very often where I live (Chicago). Seems to be when I see fedoras they are usually on geekier looking guys. I don't think they look good on 99.99 percent of the people I see them on, but hey, wear whatever hat you want to - I'm not going to be mad about it.

absolutely.
trick is to find a hat that suits your head (and i mean that both in terms of comfort and style). a small hat on a big head (which is what you often see with trilbys and fedoras) looks real dumb, as does a formal-ish hat with shorts.
