What is your favorite game genre. I love shooters and RPGs.
What is your favorite type of genre?
I used to be an RPG man, but I kinda burned out after the last generation. Don't get me wrong, I'll still pick up a good RPG, but my genre of choice is now the Action/Adventure. More instantly gratifying; I don't have the patience of time with video games that I used to </3
I'm not sure I can answer this question. There are really too many to consider. I've kinda lost interest in shooters recently. Maybe sports games are my favorite? I do play a lot of NBA 2K10. Maybe music games. Maybe Racing games. Maybe RPGs. Too hard to say really.
Western RPG's like Dragon Age, FPS, 3RD person shooters like Rainbow 6 Vegas, Dungeon Crawlers like Diablo, Sports games, more...
Well, I was trying to think of my favorite, but then I realized this.
I was looking at my recent played list. deadliest warrior.(fighting) NFS:MW( racing) Madden 09 (sports) Halo 3 (fps) a little longer ago Fallout 3 (rpg-ish.) and i havent played it yet, but Magic the Gathering (card.) oh. and halo wars (RTS)
and i havent really played them alot since i've beat them, but i loved Assassin's Creed 2 (action/adventure) crackdown/protoype (open world) and condemned/dead space. (horror, i guess?) i'm also a big fan of dj hero/rock band (music) although usually at parties. oh. and back in my ps2 days, i loved final fantasy. and kingdom hearts and the like.
so i guess i'm pretty well rounded. i certainly don't stay on MW2 all day, but i doubt id call myself an "all around gamer". for instance. not a big fan of puzzle games.
It's easier to say what my least favorite genres are.
Sports, rhythm games and simulators(except fake simulators like The Sims and games that are really just strategy games).
I am equally fond of almost all game genres, except maybe the music genre a little bit. But I consider Rez as in the music genre, though it is technically a shooter of sorts, and it was great.
My most favourite at the moment is the RTS genre, but when I say RTS, I mean base-building, resource-managing, and army-managing RTS, not the watered down squad-based derivative. Example, I loved Dawn of War 1, not Dawn of War 2. The sequel is inferior in my opinion.
EDIT: Oh yea, also the Sports genre is really the only genre I have no real interest in, though I can still enjoy a game from it if one happens to cross my way.
