Genki Rockets, very few heard of them in Tokyo when it started up...but it's part of a top-secret video game project that the head guy from Q started. The entire staff is kept secret too. They are fucking huge in Tokyo now, and everyone is hotly waiting for their next album.
Story of the Year's new album is pretty sick. Demon Hunter's new album is still getting regular play. As I Lay Dying's new album is balls-out fucking brutal. Periphery's new album is incredible.
If we're talking "of all time", then that's a very different list.
Rise Against. I like how all their songs have a meaning and a story to them. Plus, I enjoy their style of music for some reason. I just find it pleasurable to listen to, and the lyrics are all quite meaningful too.
It's great that they've got someone as accomplished as Portnoy to fill in for them, but without Rev, it's just not the same. Then again, I haven't really liked them since Waking The Fallen, although I did enjoy a couple of the songs off the White Album. "
That's true but at least he got to finish writing the album before he passed, and how can you not like City of Evil. It's so good.
Murder By Death - I live in the wilderness and spend most of my workday outdoors so I can relate to their style. The new album is a little bit of a disappointment but it is still pretty decent. I have also been listening to a lot of The Dreadnoughts lately. F'n awesome band.
Besides Skid Row,Motley Crue and Hammerfall(and other things) I've been listening alot to Family Force 5.The new album of course,because the old one is a failed attempt at being Linkin Park.
Right now I've been heavy into Rise Against (and by right now I mean the last few years). Also I've been loving The Flatliners new album. It's wayyyyyyy better than their last one. But ya, no one will ever replace Radiohead.
