lets just talk total fantasy for now. which games do you want to see jump over to the vita. i know ive got a list as long as my arm

i know spelunky and hotline miami are on their way as is terraria apparently and im looking forward to getting my hands on dive kick!

but id kill to have these games on the go too

insanely twisted shadow planet

mark of the ninja

dust: an elysian tail

monaco: what's yours is mine

skulls of the shogun

super meat boy

pac-man championship edition DX

rock of ages

now it makes me wonder if these titles ever could come over. and if not why not? why is it ok to go steam and xbox but not ps3? its a little odd to me.

id love to hear other peoples thoughts

I'll take one of everything on that list please.

For my contribution...Shadow Complex?

Okami HD

Edit: I'd settle for FTL also.

#5 Posted by GS_Dan (1397 posts) -

I'd adore a decent version of Minecraft on it.

#6 Posted by DystopiaX (5360 posts) -

Fuck ports I want more original games.

#7 Posted by BlackLagoon (1460 posts) -

Phil Fish is apparently talking to Sony about Fez on the Vita, though I'm afraid the XBLA publishing contract for Super Meat Boy specifically prohibits it from ever coming out on PlayStation platforms.

#8 Posted by casper_ (908 posts) -

I wish those capcom/iron galaxy games were cross play

#9 Posted by faxon (68 posts) -

@blacklagoon: id be really fascinated to see if there was other legal stuff holding up any of those other titles or if its just a money issue or a lack of interest

#10 Posted by Optix12 (625 posts) -

999 for a start. Its one main reason why I have yet to play VLR. Persona 5 would be absolutely mental (and sort of make sense, at least after they finally release it on whatever consoles they will release it for)

#11 Posted by probablytuna (3822 posts) -

I'd like Final Fantasy V to be ported over so I can finish it instead of going back to my PSP.

#12 Posted by djou (878 posts) -

I'd love to see the new crop of pixel graphic RPGs get ported, Anondyne, Evoland, Half-Minute Hero, DLC Hero. Maybe Aquaria, Braid, Super House of Dead Ninja, Shovel Knights? Basically a lot of ports of "indie" games I find myself not playing on Steam but would if I could have them handy for travel.

#13 Posted by Levius (1228 posts) -

I could go for a HD collection of the PS2 SMT games as I want an excuse to play them.

#14 Edited by OneManX (1693 posts) -

I think your list hit the big ones, to beable to cross play stuff like SKullgirls, PAc-Man CE DX, or a game like Monaco would have me more amped, than I already am for getting a Vita. It's racking some cool stuff, that would be perfect to pla on commutes, I am just waitng to see if Sony does some hardware revamp at E3, but I've been sold on it for awhile, It's just waiting for a good ammount of games to come out, before making the plunge.

#15 Posted by Little_Socrates (5711 posts) -

I just learned that the FTL Vita port was a rumor. Man, bummer.

If FTL and Fez come out, I'm buying one of my best friends a Vita pre-installed with Fez, FTL, Spelunky, and P4G.

Honestly, FTL, Spelunky, and P4G would probably be enough for me! On your list, I'd specifically skip a bunch of games, but it'd be cool if most of those came over.

#16 Posted by Nightriff (5335 posts) -

Spelunky would be cool to finally play

#17 Edited by awesomeusername (4216 posts) -

@palmlykta: @little_socrates: Email the FTL dev's saying you're interested in a Vita port! They'll respond saying they're doing stuff at the moment BUT will take that you're interested in a port into consideration.

@nightriff: Spelunky is already coming to Vita & PS3.

My list:

  • Fez - I'm sure Phil and Sony are have that deal wrapped up already. Just haven't announced it.
  • Mark of the NInja - I have this on my laptop but it's a pain playing with KBM. (I'm a console gamer)
  • FTL
  • Dust: An Elysian Tale
  • Bastion - Have on my laptop also but I hate KBM.
  • The Unfinished Swan - I wouldn't mind buying it again and playing it on my Vita.
#18 Posted by Nightriff (5335 posts) -

@awesomeusername: I know that but I want Hotline Miami and Spelunky now on my Vita

#19 Posted by BestUsernameEver (4825 posts) -
  • Trackmania 2 canyon
  • Pac man dx
  • Audiosurf
  • Distance
  • Minecraft (not mobile version where the map is incredibly small)
#20 Posted by Little_Socrates (5711 posts) -

For the record, there's almost no way Mark of the Ninja will come to Vita. It was directly published by MS, and has always been an MS published game.

#21 Edited by awesomeusername (4216 posts) -

@little_socrates: But iIt came to Steam!??

@nightriff: Patience my boy! Hotline Miami is most likely coming this month. They said it'd be out in spring.

#22 Posted by GunGunW (60 posts) -

Bejeweled and The Sims jump to mind. The Sims games prior to the third installment tend to be cool and unique

I bought a Vita specifically because I wanted to play console quality western RPGs.

Please Bethesda, Morrowind HD, some Fallout spin-off, I don't care, just give us something.

I'd rather see more original games on it, but if it's going to survive on ports then just port the entire PS2 library over to it and I will be a happy camper.

I think we can shut this one down because we won't get a better game or series in this thread.

#30 Posted by posh (530 posts) -

mark of the ninja, skulls of the shogun, diablo 3, madden NFL arcade, metroid fusion HD, hotel dusk, skate vita. as long as we're being super hypothetical

Wow, that's a crazy reason to buy a Vita - I don't think anything like that has been announced. It's probably more likely for the Vita to see some cool JRPGs, eg. I bought it for Persona 4 Golden and I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Anyway, on topic - if we're talking about existing games which we want to "come to the vita" then the only things I can think of which haven't been listed are;

  • Journey
  • Valkyria Chronicles 3 (it didn't come out anywhere but Japan)
  • Tokyo Jungle
  • Gemini Rue
  • The Walking Dead

I think at this point I'd like to see anything on the Vita.

#35 Edited by egg (1469 posts) -

just some ideas, just brainstorming:

  • Test Drive Unlimited
  • new Fat Princess
  • Sonic 4 Episode I
  • Sonic 4 Episode II
  • Mega Man Powered Up
  • Mega Man Universe
  • Maverick Hunter (the MMX FPS rebooted as a 3D side scroller, like Mirror of Fate)
  • Eye of Judgment 3
  • Marvel Trading Card Game reboot
  • Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us
  • Resistance Retribution: Vita Edition (60 fps, no hackers, improved controls, improved online latency, etc)
  • "Mr Driller V" (or at least Mr. Driller the PSone classic released to the west finally)
  • Daytona USA 2001 (Dreamcast version ported to PSN, with online play intact)
  • Bomberman: Act Zero PSN

edit: The Daytona USA idea gives me another idea.. Chu Chu Rocket. Dreamcast version. With online play intact. Because.. why not? And because 56k blew. The game would find new life on the Vita.

edit: not a game, but a Dead or Alive 5 nude mod would be a moving gesture.

The Commander Keen games would be awesome on Vita.

Also Trials Evo., Dead Rising, Poker Night would be cool, Scribblenauts also.

#37 Posted by MiniPato (2751 posts) -

Odin Sphere with a solid framerate.

Any Level 5 PS2 game. Preferable Dark Cloud 2 or Dragon Quest 8

Persona 4 Arena, half visual novel half fighting game, perfect for a handheld.

Jet Set Radio Future, the better playing Jet Set Radio game.

Dead Rising 1 or side game. I've bought and played Dead Rising 2 enough times already.

FFXII, while I don't particularly care for FFXII as much as the other games, I feel I'd appreciate and dedicate more time to it if it were on a handheld.

#42 Posted by Rorie (2987 posts) -

@faxon: Metal Gear Acid 1, 2, 3, 4, and why not 5. Those games are amazing.

#43 Posted by Oscar__Explosion (2403 posts) -

Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2

#44 Posted by faxon (68 posts) -

@minipato: odins sphere!! what a pull!! yes! also thankyou, you are dead right about JSRF. F the haters

@rorie: cant say ive ever actually played the acid games. but from the look of them a solid pack of those in hd would do pretty damn well

@reisz: yeah i want to see something like this or any other monster hunter open world roaming game aswell.. itchy for it. really surprised more people havent made games like that.

@selfconfessedcynic: actually! i gave the remote play thing ago for tokyo jungle! works a treat! i have no idea why there isnt just a vita version. but its a step closer i guess but stuff like the walking dead and journey i feel would lose something if its not on a big lovely screen. and i wouldnt want to be playing something as emotionally demanding as the walking dead on the go.. might break into tears in the street!

@rafaelfc: xcom and harvest moon.. you are a genius.

regarding the other suggestions i havent had much luck with first person hand helds for my liking but to each their own i guess :)

and console exclusivity is.. a myth at this point. theres no reason any of those games couldnt come out on another platform. if they made it to steam they can make it anywhere.

also dust force would be an awesome pull

a word to the peeps saying there aint nothin on the vita:

lumines (infinite time spent playing. one of my fav games ever.)

gravity rush (a lot of fun but barely dipped my toes in yet)

uncharted (again barely touched)

little big planet (half way through)

metal gear solid hd (havent touched yet)

mortal kombat (done the first few fights in the story mode)

persona 4 golden (havent even touched yet!)

everybodys golf (surprisingly relaxing and fun)

rayman origins (finished but gonna play again to unlock all the stuff)

new little kings story (no idea how far through i am but in love with the entire game)

guacamelee (feel about 1/3 through, really really really loving it)

mutant blobs attack (barely touched but very fun)

sound shapes (half way through)

virtues last reward (no idea. havent touched it yet)

puddle (not played)

escape plan (not played it)

jet set radio (nostalgia up the butt)

strangers wrath (more nostalgia)

thomas was alone (finished this morning and it was awesoooooome!!!!!)

theres looooooooooooooooooooads of stuff on the vita!!!! looooooooooads!!!! more than ive even had time to play and ive owned it since christmas!!! and over half of these were free!!! what more could you want!!???

and for people asking for original stuff. we kinda all want that :p its just easier to think of a port to mention if only to reference the type of games people want to see.

#45 Posted by Rowr (5824 posts) -

If i've already played it on something else i probably don't want to play it again on the vita.

If it's something suited to the vita, i'd much rather play it on that first though.

I want to see the awesome new indie games come to vita pretty much simultaneously with other consoles, sony seem to slowly be getting better and better at making this happen.

#46 Posted by zungerman090 (311 posts) -

Anyone knows about porting iOS titles to Vita? How difficult would it be? TWEWY (iOS version) for Vita would be pretty sweet.

#47 Posted by faxon (68 posts) -

@zungerman090: Well jetpack joyride and that other running game came out on it :p I'd imagine theres little issue

#48 Posted by egg (1469 posts) -

Midnight Club

#49 Edited by Nezza (377 posts) -

I'm looking for more original content that is focused on playing to the strengths of the Vita by its being lead platform for development. Gravity Rush is the prime example. I wouldn't mind more handheld focused spin-offs like Uncharted or AC:Liberation, but I think it is time that the ports started to die down a little.

That and Persona 5 obviously.
