I drove past my midnight launch Best Buy at like 9:00pm this evening and there were 15 people waiting outside max. I was so sad! There were nearly 100 people around the same time last Friday, but then me, the guy who went to a launch event to pick up his PS4, ordered his Xbox online. So that number could be meaningless. Still those guys didn't look too stoked out in the cold.

Yeah i went to gamestop to finalize the console purchase (like at 6:00), there were so little people there like 5-15 max got #7 in line.

Some real loose talk online so I'm trying not to get too excited, and hope I don't get anyone's hopes up, but yeah sounds like it could be very interesting if that's a real mechanic. The person said there was a lot more third person shooting to it than they had shown and then said that was a main mechanic. But didn't want to say anymore.

I hope they do something to mix it up. I found Alan Wake's combat to be boring but Max Payne 1 and 2 were incredible. It would make some sense in the weird story they are setting up to some degree.

Went to Best Buy just before midnight. It was 15 degrees (F). They had a handful for people who did not preorder. People who were insane and waited in freezing cold all day all got one. One guy in front of me also showed up at the last second and walked up and got the last one. I'm not bummed since I showed up late, but wasn't up for standing in the cold.

I picked up my Xbox this afternoon and immediately lost my free download card for FIFA 14. haha. It's either around my house somewhere or it's sitting on the seat on the tram I caught.

Anyway. Xbox One. Pretty dope.

To the duders that are XBONING as we speak: how is Xbox Live holding up under the launch day strain? Similar to PSN? (academic interest, not fanboying!)

Been pretty good, Day 1 patch downloaded quick and easy. Store opens fast and loads quick no problems at all.

@bluesun: I downloaded the day 1 patched, a DR3 patch, a Ryse patch and KI all really quickly.

Is it me, or did most of the major games media outlets do less for this launch? Its seems like less staff were on hand, less coverage was live, and less enthusiasm was seen. Maybe, the fact that review units were in people's hands for so long that the 'wow' factor was diminished.

If I am correct, most sites like Giant Bomb seem to have had an Xbox One in their hands when PS4 launched. So in effect many sites last Friday were comparing and contrasting PS4 to One all week, but could not say anything until now. I think in retrospect (w/ hindsight being 20/20) I think MS took the drama and edge off their launch event by giving reviewers time. Add to that, Sony came out first I think MS dulled their message in two ways that are palpable.

The advantages Microsoft had were a cleaner launch with (seemingly) less people having problems with hardware issues; having Forza and Dead Rising 3 filled out their launch line-up a bit better; and, finally, by giving everyone more time they allowed the commentary at launch to be a bit more considered.

Someone stole my Xbox One from my front porch while I was at work. Super bummed right now.

I'm confused. I went to a party for a few hours, came back, and there still is not show to be seen... will they upload the stream or anything?

It went pretty late. So, it hasn't exactly been a lot of time for them to upload each piece of the video. I mean, it's gonna be 4 parts; so, I'd expect it to either be late tonight or early tomorrow at the earliest.

So, it seems the Xbox One has sold more than a million units in less than 24 hours, just like the PS4. Good for them, I guess.

And more than 7.1 combos have been landed in Killer Instinct, guys.

Anyone have an idea when the Xbox One livestream will be up? I missed it live.

Really wasn't expecting this. Go PS4 and X1!

To be fair PS4 was only one region and we do not know if MS sold all units or not.

Great launch for both consoles. Can't be more happy. I have friends playing PS consoles and other MS consoles. Can't wait to have gaming parties

The PS4 numbers were just for North America. The 1 million for the Xbox One is across all thirteen territories it launched in.

@hailinel: To put things in perspective, I think both consoles would have sold more consoles if they had just more inventory at launch.. It's hard to figure out which console has the most interest from public... I'd say PS4 though.

Yeah, I was really hoping to watch it, but guess it's not up yet - surprising, they're usually faster than this.

Yeah I really want to watch the live stream, the PS4 stream went up on YouTube pretty quickly.

Sadness. Still no archive up on GiantBomb. I'd watch it elsewhere, but I can't seem to find any way to get it from other sources onto my Roku.
