    Franklin is a minor recurring character in the Gears of War series, first seen as a Stranded leader figure in Gears of War. Aggressive but true to his word, he is suitably voiced by John DiMaggio.

    Background

    Franklin or 'Frankie', was introduced as the leader of a small group of Stranded during Act 2 (''Nightfall') of Gears of War. He returns in Gears of War 2 as both a meatflag in the Submission multiplayer mode and an allied NPC during the 'Road to Ruin' deleted chapter.

    Little is known about Franklin's history or background, aside from an instant rapport with Dom. He is shown as an aggressive character who has a disdain to the COG forces like most Stranded. When Dom announces that he is "calling in the favor", Franklin begrudgingly agrees to help him (and effectively the COG) out.

    Trivia

    • Franklin is the only Stranded to be seen as a leader figure.
    • He, along with Chaps, are one of only two Stranded to be featured in both Gears of War and Gears of War 2.
    • He's invincible in both single player and multiplayer.
