Gears of War 2, Horde completion anyone?

WEDNESDAY, SEP. 7TH, 2011 -- 10:00 PM PST

So, I'm trying to get to wave 50 to brush up before the new game comes out. I think 40 something is the furthest I've gotten.

Anyone want to try and hit that achievement with me? I'm thinking about jumping on the time listed above. Add me and jump on if you're into it!

@JoeyF: I'm a little rusty, but I'll give it a shot. My friend and I managed to do it with just the two of us. I'll try to remember which level worked the best for us.

@JoeyF: I just added you on XBL! And the map we did it on was Blood Drive. We ended up using the shields to barricade ourselves inside an isolated room to weather the tough waves.

Another good map is Day One. I wish I could help you guys but I don't have my Xbox set up.

I recommend the map with the busted overpass, got to 50 on it rather easily. Unfortunately wont be able to make it that night.

Believe it or not, Tyro Station is really a swell map for this achievement. Two people can grind it out to Wave 50 with just two shields and good communication. Hang out by the Torque Bow/Sniper spawn on one side, block off the railway ramp and the adjacent path by the sandbags, and you should be set.

We have a group of about 12 giantbombers playing daily - we play horde, annex, guardian - anything really. If we have more than 5 we swap to custom maches. Send me an inv if you want in.

Count me in if it's not too late. I've been meaning to get my achievements for horde mode. But I'm not that good at Gears 2, just a heads up. GT = same as my username.

I'm thinking of replaying some gears games before 3 comes out.   Maybe start off with some Gears 1 PC, doubt anyone else has that :(

@JoeyF: Yeah, that was awesome! It was nice playing with everyone and getting the Hoard the Horde achievement.

3 hours later and we did it. Beat wave 50, Joey, goku, wumbo, wildcard vito and myself. That was very entertaining, especially since vito didn't have a mic. Goot times!

HAHA, yeah we were all talking. In the early game we were saying "ok there's one enemy left, lets go collect ammo", and then shortly after saying that you'd kill the last enemy. By mid-game it became "ok, hurry and collect ammo before vito kills the last enemy". We were cracking up about it!

@stinkyasian: Oh, man, how embarrassing! :( I didn't get a party invite or anything, so I thought no one was talking! And the last enemy thing was always an accident because I wasn't paying attention, but I tried to hold off later on in the game. Anyway, I hope I wasn't too problematic. It was still a lot of fun!
