It's fast paced, over the top third person action, that takes some skill to be good online (Not just shotgun and chainsaw).
Gears of War 3
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Sep 20, 2011
The third and final installment in the Marcus Fenix trilogy. Taking place on the apocalyptic planet Sera, 18 months after the ending of Gears of War 2, players will once again take control of C.O.G. soldier Marcus Fenix as he takes on the Locust threat and their Lambent rivals.
Someone explain to me why anyone likes these games.

hnnnngg.
Hnnnngg, nicely done. That's a pretty solid spelling of a grandpappy grunt/groan.
Now what were we talking about again? Racism or something?
Not very accurate I admit. Though I'm only a beginner at Grandpappy impersonations. Next time I'll try to do better. hhnngg?

Wait, so this is fat? You sure are sounding a lot like an insecure skinny guy...
@LordXavierBritish said:@EuanDewar said:The fat black character scares me because he is very intimidating. Normally I am very tolerant of black people but this character made the game extremely uncomfortable for me.At least say something racist. This is just boring.
I kinda think you're missing something here.

The people who like it have not played Uncharted.
what
The only thing the two games have in common is that they're in third person, have guns, and a cover system. They're different in every other way and aren't even available on the same platform.
There is no Gears. It's an elaborate scam to get you to give us $60, which we will split at Taco Bell.

Back in my day, you could browse this here forum without someone trying to start a gosh darned brawl. hnnnngg.
In the early days, only linkyshinks started brawls while HitmanAgent47 melted minds.

I rememberin' back in the the day when there weren't so many different bacon brands to choose from. Now I just stand there, can't make up my mind....
This is a stupid assumption. I've played both and gears blows uncharted away in my opinion. The people who like it have not played Uncharted.

And you could post in a thread without someone replying to your post with a limp-wristed attempt at burning you.
When people make threads, they should always ask themselves some questions first:
1) What am I trying to accomplish by creating this thread?
2) Does the premise of this thread conflict with the rules and regulations of this site?
3) Are people going to associate me or my thread with "trolling?"
If you are able to provide clear and logical answers that reflect a positive attitude, then by all means, create the thread. If not, please reconsider creating your thread and tweak it as need be so as not to violate the positive nature that we as human beings try to promote on these forums.
I only like the Gears multi player, and don't really care for its single player. I finished Gears 2, but only got part way through Gears 1.
Guys, I have to say I feel very victimized in this thread.
All wanted to do was know about video games, is it a crime to ask questions on the internet?

When the question starts with "Why would anyone like this." yes, yes it is.
I was just wondering why everyone I know seems to be flipping their shit over Gears when there are plenty of faster, more accuracy based shooters like Halo and Call of Duty on store shelves nation wide.@LordXavierBritish said:

I want to play video games with my friends but I don't want to go spend $60 on a bad game, they seem to be into ironic shit maybe this is just a joke.

...
Your trying hard aren't you.
This is the reason why I fell in love with the first Gears of War and the reason why I play the rest of them. This is in my opinion the best video game commercial ever made.
