Some notes on getting the achievements in Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2

Unlocked All Modes
Just keep playing each level to unlock the next. Doing well unlocks it faster, but even doing badly will get it before too long.

Magpie
Collect 500 geoms in a single game.
Plow through those geoms. I got this on Sequence on a screen with roughly ten bazillion enemies. Deploy a bomb, plow
through geoms, done.

Millionaire
Score at least 1,000,000 points in all single player modes.
The hard one for me was Deadline. Focus on collecting geoms for the score multiplier, then bounce lots of shots off the
gates for even bigger bonuses. You don't get points for enemies destroyed by bombs it seemed, but you can get the geoms.

Phobia
Score 1,000 points in Waves without collecting any geoms.
Shoot the bad guys, then go the other direction.

Slalom
Chain together 5 gates in 5 seconds. Crossing at least one gate every second.
Go to Pacifism mode and wait for a bunch of gates to show up. Keep cruising through them.

Surf
Dodge 8 lines of enemies in Waves without firing a shot, or destroying any enemies.
Stick near the middle as much as possible. Make sure you don't hit an enemy at the beginning when your shield is up.
The last one is the hardest. You need to zip through a rapidly closing little area in the middle.

Treaty
Activate 30 zones in King without firing a shot, or destroying any enemies.
Make sure your shield at the beginning doesn't destroy anyone. Going straight increases your speed. You only have to
touch the zones, you don't have to linger. By 25 gates or so the little rhombus/diamond dudes can go as fast or
faster than you, so be sure to sneak through the zones, even closing ones,  to slow them down.  Rhombus dudes are
still a threat.

Rebound
Destroy 75 enemies in a game of Deadline using bullets bounced off of gates.
When you die you lose the gates, so be careful out there. Sticking near the gate and shooting into it can spread shots
wide. Look out for the deadly gate ends.

Wax On
Rub your ship along all four arena walls in Pacifism.
Zip right to the edge and start cruising along. You can be directly next to it, but going straight, and still activate the wall
segments. Rhombus dudes often spawn directly in front of you along the wall, so be ready to peel off, loop around them,
then zip right back.

Wax Off
Perform the Wax On achievment twice in a single game, don't forget to breathe.
This is a tricky one where crowd control is the key. Loop around the rhombus dudes to better bunch them up. Try not to leave
small gaps when you're forced to peel off the wall. Sometimes zipping across the board to the other side can give you
some breathing room. I found that destroying the baddies usually made my life worse because new ones would respawn
in front of me. Get rid of extra gates when you can, as they quickly get in the way later.

Game Over
Reach the end of sequence
Judicious use of bombs. When surrounded, pick a side to blast your way out of and take care of the rest from there.

Smile
2, 4, 11, 15, 17, 18, and 19
Complete those numbered squares in Sequence, failing the rest. It makes a smile pattern on the board grid. This one
is a grind. If you mess up the pattern, just start over.

When you get the full 200/200 achievement points, a representative from an alien race contacts you and asks you to
be a fighter pilot on their behalf.

Okay, I made that last part up.
