Overview
Golden Tee LIVE is a golf simulation game developed and released by Incredible Technologies for arcades (using their PC-based hardware) in 2005.
The fourth major iteration of the Golden Tee series (after Golden Tee Fore! and its updates), Golden Tee LIVE features updated real-time 3D graphics (with customizable 3D golfers), new payment options (with players able to use credit cards), and real-time online connectivity (making use of cellular networks).
Like the previous installment, Golden Tee LIVE features yearly updates that adds new courses in addition to some new features. It is the longest-running installment in the series, with yearly updates from 2006 (with Golden Tee LIVE 2007) to 2020 (with Golden Tee 2021). Unlike the previous installments, in which each update replaces the overall course listing, each Golden Tee LIVE update adds new courses to the overall listing (with later installments including courses from previous ones).
Since 2012, most versions of the game was also sold for home use. Dubbed the "Home Edition", this version removed payment options, but allowed for online play. The game also received an alternate "Unplugged" edition from 2008-2011, removing all online capabilities while unlocking all content from the start.
