I'm really enjoying GTA V but i'm thinking back at things that i liked from past GTA games that are missing from this one. I miss the vehicle export shopping lists, police, fire, and ambulance vehicle missions. I even liked the pizza delivery missions from Vice city/San Andreas. I understand if they were cut for story sake but if there's still justification for jetski races and the like, why not this other stuff too?

I would rather have those missions than the races except the triathlon, that is secretly one of my favorite things in the game.

They don't have police missions? I know they still have taxis but taking out that vigilante system seems sort of odd. I was also really bummed out to find that the car repo stuff was in-mission only. How do you have a game starring two professional boosters and it's the one time you DON'T have a 30-car list of desirables that need escorting to the docks.

As a Firefighter, I was very very very dissapointed that the game did not have firefighting missions in the Engines.

While GTAV has taken a lot of strides into bringing things back to the more open and varied nature of GTA that was missing in GTAIV, I agree that there's still a lot of stuff that I was disappointed to find missing. The omission of vigilante missions is especially odd, considering that they even kept that in GTAIV. I do really appreciate the taxi driver activity, though. Sometimes I'm just in the mood for driving around listening to the music, and doing a few taxi fares is perfect for giving it a bit of structure.

The fact that there aren't even any friend benefits anymore is also a bit strange. Like asking Lamar to maybe send you over a couple of gang members to assist you in shoot outs or something. And why oh why can't I have someone to send me over one of my own vehicles?? Or at least a small stock selection of vehicles. That was one of my favourite improvements of many that they made with the GTAIV DLC stories.

I don't really miss any of them but doing taxi missions was a great way to learn the layout of the city and spend some time listening to the radio in one long stretch. I just don't find the radio stations as interesting in short burst.

I'm glad they brought back the Rampage missions, those were my favorite. Sadly, they're pretty easy in this game, was hoping for harder like in Vice when you had a katana and you had to kill like 10 gang members shooting you. Those were the days.

It really feels out of character if they allowed Trevor, Franklin or Michael to do vigilante/ambulance/taxi missions. Come to think of it, stuff like that has always been out of character so I'm not sad that they're gone. If they had some sort of justification for having those side missions then I'm on board.

For example, Trevor can take up the ambulance missions but instead of sending them to hospitals, he's sending them to a shady ass organ dealer instead! Vigilante missions could involve Michael having to do some dirty work for the FIB or something. Franklin can have a side job as a chauffeur for Vinewood celebrities or something since he always gets roped in to drive paparazzi or celebrities around.
