So I just got a key from Curse.com for BWE3 (they are giving away 1000 keys to premium members now another 10000 to non premium later) and I downloaded the beta client setup and I tried downloading the game but I keep getting " download failed please check your internet connection and try again". Is it because you can only download closer to the BWE or is something else wrong since my connection is fine (yes I know I can't play now just trying to get it ready for BWE3)

As far as I know you should be able to download the client at any time.

Have a look on their forums to see if there are any current issues on download status. If there are, I'm sure they'll be resolved soon.

Your firewall might be the culprit.

No, you should be able to download it whenever. I open up the client occasionally and sometimes there's a minor download. I'd suggest just waiting a day or so. If worse comes to worst, you could just wait until a week or so before the BWE, when ANet will be more avilable to help.

Ok tried allowing it through the firewall via an exception that didn't work. Disabled the firewall completly that didn't work. Went to ttheir forums says their closed. I'm out of ideas.

well, the good news is that even if u dont succeed getting it downloaded now, its only a month away from release, so you'll be playing it no time :)

Damn AVG (warning to those AVG paid versions) its firewall will block it even with an exception and disabling 'all AVG protection' will not work even though it shuts the firewall off you have to manually disable just the firewall portion. Got it to work though. Thanks for trying to help guys.

Yup anyone reading this using avg you have to disable your firewall.

Funny, I use AVG and I've never had any problems with the client.
