Hello all!

I'm both happy and sad to announce that we are making a temporary 2nd guild - "How I Met Your Mesmer [CBSi]", where we're inviting all of those who can't make it into Lincoln Force for now due to the guild system being fuckin' broken (IE Video games y'all).

Yay!

Guild leaders are the illustrious @project343 (our resident engineer specialist) and @MattBodega (ex-whiskey media intern). This will expand if it needs to.

The list they shall be working down are the ones posted in my other thread, here.

If your friend is in this new guild and you want to move over, message "Actaru" and "Morang Tong".

ED: This guild will be phased into the main Lincoln Force guild over the coming weeks, as shit gets less screwy.

Lol. Well, for this one I actually got an invite, which is an improvement, but clicking the "Join" button does nothing. Hopefully other people have more luck. ;D

I got this invite to show in the guild menu. The main guild invite popped like this one but never showed in guild menu.

I just added myself to the excel sheet for this guild. I supposedly got a Lincoln Force invite...but I don't think it went through because I'm not seeing it.

I'm almost done downloading the game. I'll see if I have an invite. And if I don't, I'll sign up for this one.

I got an invite on logging in and this one actually showed up in the guild panel. So that's good.

You'd think in a game called Guild Wars the thing they'd have on lock would be the GUILDS. All they've left me with are Wars.

Also, please watch for invites if you are not in one of the guilds yet, and accept as soon as possible. We have a max invite limit, and keep hitting it because people aren't accepting their guild invites, keeping us from being able to invite others.

Are invites affected by being in an overflow zone? I've been doing my best to stay in one area to avoid it if that is the case, but just curious as to how that works.

I was just wondering:

Did all of those who cannot join make sure that they activate the option "represent guild X" in the guild panel ? as an former player of GW1, I was tricked because I thought "you joined a guild...that's it, you joined.."

But in GW2, when you accept an invitation with a character, I am not sure that by default you also represent it. What I am certain of is that with your other characters, you have to actively push the "represent guidl X'" button in the guild tab to become part of it. Otherwise, you are potentially a member of whatever guild you accepted the invitation from, but you do not represent any...

this system is implemented to allow player to represent different guild with the same character at different times depending on their activity or whatever reason...

I think some of us can have missed that little detail, be in practice invited in a guild but not "represent" it and think that they are out whereas they are not...

It really seems like they'd be two entirely separate systems. The guild inviting system was getting more and more bogged down the more players we added to it, so I'd imagine whatever systems they've got handling guilds at the moment (what with all the invites going out across all guilds, since they're technically cross-server) are just hitting it up to the breaking point.

I seriously think How I Met Your Mesmer is the best freaking name ever and should be the main guild instead of Lincoln Force. Because it's brilliant.

That being said, segregate those HIMYM fools! We don't want them in our BOMB! Taking it back to the 60s here.

I'd still prefer to be moved into LF in due time. (But, I might just want to rep how i met your Mesmer every so often).

Sounds good. I added my GW2 account name to the spreadsheet and won't be in-game until Early tuesday morning (EDT) since I didn't "pre-purchase."

@Brodehouse: That wasn't what I was implying at all. Some people, I think, didn't see they had received an invite, or weren't aware of the workaround of logging out and back in. That's why I whispered everyone I invited just before sending the invite. Also, it turns out we were inviting people who were offline, clogging up the invite limit as well.

i'm pretty sure you can, you just have to pick which you're "representing" and that's the one that will get influence for your actions, and it's the one whose guild chat you'll be in.

For folks unable to get invites...have you had issues "Verifying" your account (like when you initially log in from the launcher). Every time I get the e-mail and click the link to confirm, it says the page has expired.

I remember getting invited to How I met your mesmer yesterday, but decided to ignore it because I didn't know it was connected to Lincoln Force.

I was able to get into "How I Met..." even though I am experiencing that issue.

I got an invite but I couldn't accept it. I accidentally declined and the whole thing went away. I didn't see the comment about re-logging when the join button is bugged until after. I would really like another invite if that's possible. :)

Is the guild thing still broke? I accepted the guild invite but it says I'm not in a guild still even though I can apparently leave the guild

Figure I should update everyone: I've gone through and invited everyone on the list (currently). Accept your invites promptly because we've got a bit of a limit on the number of pending invites we can have. Also, don't forget to represent us by hitting that little 'represent' button in the guild UI; representing gives you access to the guild stuff (chat, etc.) and earns us some influence for upgrading what we have access to. :)

Note: if you're on the list and haven't received your invite, just change your status back to orange in the list and I'll have you in within 24 hours. Could have been a pending invite that got canned, could have been the buggy guild system hitting things in the wrong places, or it could have been a human error on our part. If you can't join the guild via the invite, try relogging before accepting, or try heading into a personal story quest--both have reportedly worked. If this still doesn't work, throw yourself back to orange, or get ahold of me in-game and I'll see if I can help you out (character name: Actaru).
