Just me who thinks the pacing of the ranking system is a bit jacked up? I made Warrant Officer 2 days ago and since then its taken ages to get half way til the next rank up (warrant officer grade 1) I've played a lot of matchmaking, Firefight, and completed the game. I love ranking up in games but it seems to take a hell of a lot longer to rank up any more, this may just stop me from playing the multiplayer, the time i'll put into this isnt worth the rewards. Theres alot of games coming out soon (DR2, Civ5) and I can just see myself ditching Reach already :(
If this is true then its guna take a long time to rank up to Captain.
Anyone else feel this way?
Halo: Reach
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Sep 14, 2010
A prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, chronicling one of the most cataclysmic events of the Halo Universe through the eyes of a squad of Spartan super-soldiers known as Noble Team. It is also the last game in the series developed by Bungie.
Rank pacing a bit jacked?
" That tends to be how games with rankings work. The higher you go up, the more it takes to rank up. It would be kind of dumb if it was the same time to reach every rank since then everyone would reach max rank pretty quickly and then have nothing left to play for. "Lol, ofcourse, but I just think its TOO far of a jump from WO to captian.

"Yes it should take longer, but the leveling system is jacked. Think of the amount of time it takes for you to go from private to warrant officer, then multiply that time by ten. That isn't good pacing.

I think he means that it seems skewed in the way the ranking works. As mentioned, you can get through the first couple of ranks super fast but once you hit Warrant Officer, it goes from super fast to super slow. I'm all for working to gain the ranks, but it just doesn't feel like there's a happy medium after hitting Warrant Officer." That tends to be how games with rankings work. Fucccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccck. I'm only on Warrent Officer Grade 2 and only halfway through that. Getting to Major is gonna kill me.
" Warrant Officer is when shit gets real. A ton of games work like that. "Pretty much. After Warrant Officer everything starts to take forever.
@Hooded:
Make sure you're doing all the challenges, and checking your commendations and setting goals to complete them. I'm really close to Captain. Just another 15000 credits or so.
It does feel like Warrant Officer ranks are taking forever in comparison to all the other ranks. At the same time, with the price of upgrades after you hit Warrant Officer, the credits that you would have by the time you hit your next rank seem pretty accordant to the time it takes to rank up.
Yeah, all games take a major turn once you hit the officer ranks, but I don't like that there are four Warrant Officer ranks, yet only one or two Sergeant ranks. I think there should have been a few more easily achievable ranks before they cranked up the heat.
Also it sucks that something new isn't unlocked for every rank, it makes it feel like a painful grind through the "unimportant" ranks to get to the good stuff.
