There's a pickle hierarchy for sure.   
 
Fast food pickles on shitty fast food burgers are terrible.  But the entire burger is terrible so whatever.   
 
Soggy ass pickle spears served as a side with "gourmet" sandwiches are also fucking terrible.   
 
Good, non-mass market pickles that are nice and crispy, thin sliced on a good home-made burger are great.  Same pickle in a spear on a hotdog also good, or as a side or snack. 
 
Keep your shitty pickles out of my fridge.

Pickles are awesome, Claussen's especially. But dill for sure, definitely not sweet.

The flavor of the pickle is too strong and throws off the taste of the rest of the burger.

Pickles add a nice zest to the burger for me. I lurv pickles on chicken sandwiches ever since Chick-fil-a introduced me to it.

I love dill pickles. Either on top of the bun or on the side so I can add it to the burger myself.

I hate sweet pickles or relish. Tomatoes are only good on a burger if they're actually ripe.

Valasic pickles are good on burgers. McDonalds shitty soggy pickles are disgusting also so is McDonalds.
