I love pickles on my hamburgers.  There can't be too many of them, though.

Pickles are my least favorite food, you could not pay me to eat a pickle. With that said, I can not eat White Caslte without the pickle, a slyder just isn't a slyder without the pickle.

Agreed, I love pickles plain but they really do subtract from a burger.

You need the vinegar as a complement to the rest of the burger taste. Whether you get this from a pickle or relish it doesn't matter, but it has to be there otherwise it's like eating cereal without milk or pasta without sauce.
