    Overview

    The Happy Mask Salesman is a vendor of strange masks of all sorts. He was first featured in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as the owner of the Happy Mask Shop in Hyrule Castle Town. His role is much more significant in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, in which he first encounters Link after the Skull Kid had trapped Link in the form of a Deku Scrub. The Happy Mask Salesman teaches the Song of Healing to Link, allowing him to escape his transformed state. He also explains to Link the situation of how Majora's Mask was stolen from him and how the moon will crash into Termina in three days' time. The Happy Mask Salesman is usually in a good mood, but is also the subject of intense mood swings and a short temper. He also displays psychotic behavior when he is displeased.

    After Link finally recovers Majora's Mask, The Happy Mask Salesman fades away. It is hinted through some of his dialogue that he is not of Termina, though no confirmation of his origins is ever given.
