The time of day lighting and other environmental effects are the best looking I've ever seen. This game looks stunning at times. Now I need a way to get that goddamn objective icon off the screen so I can look at the scenery in peace.

It's a real shame this'll never make it to the PC. I can only imagine how this already beautiful game could be enhanced by all of those HD texture mods people make. Here are my two contributions to this thread!
Anyone know of a fix/hack for HDR photos (other than turning HDR off, taking the photo, then turning it back on - my TV is weirdly sluggish about going between HDR & SDR because it's [relatively] cheap trash)? My game sure didn't look like this on the screen when taking the shots so the tonemapping down from 30-bit (output) to 24-bit PNG isn't great (these looked awesome at the time but are basically irrecoverable messes with completely blown high- and low-ends when viewed back on the same TV [in SDR mode as they're only 24-bit images]).

i don't know how you can do it. i love immersing myself with a minimal HUD but i got to have something to point the way; my sense of direction/memory is terrible.

I think it's the dynamic pointer thingy in the game settings. I turned both of them off and was no longer becoming confused as to which way I actually needed to go. I hated having those floating points while travelling somewhere.

You can always pull out the map and it has the waypoint markers on it. I think the compass does too when you get close enough to the objective. Honestly the game feels much better with most of the HUD junk turned to dynamic and the quest traker turned off every time it renables itself.
Same goes for Zelda which does a fantastic job directing you through dialogue and landmark cues. When you've learned the controls you can turn the HUD off (outside of the hearts amd stamina) and disable to quest traker every time it renables itself.
Both games can be played with an eye towards exploration and discovery even if Zelda does a better job being that sort of game without icon barf on the map. I'm looking forward to more games being design that way and getting away from the Ubisoft formula in all open world games.

Such a good looking game. I may post some of my screenshots when I'm done with my run and sort through my... 200 screenshots? Ah, man. I'm backlogged on life.
