Looks like a great zone-out game.

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic GameSpot layoffs on the General Discussion board.

This just makes me feel bad about filling out the personality focused survey they've been running lately. Makes it really seems like they were just creating a "hit list" based on user feedback.

  • Ares42 posted a message on the post Quick Look: The Last of Us Remastered.

Never understood why people thought this games graphics looked so amazing on PS3. To me this was the perfect example of a game that was "too big" for the old consoles. Sure the main character models ...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Does anyone prefer the older GTA games(3,Vice City,San Andreas) to the newer ones on the General Discussion board.

Might've just been timing, but playing Vice City non-stop for a whole summer is still one of the best gaming memories I have.

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Officially out what are your thoughts? on the Firefall board.

Tried it out for a bit. Might just be my memory playing tricks on me, but it really feels like the game has gotten "flatter" since I played it back in beta. The new intro thing is also not very good....

@bollard: You kill the opponent =) Also, most of the agro decks usually have some method of filling up their hand.

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Could someone explain this expectedly plain concept to me? on the PlayStation 4 board.

From a PC perspective, yes it seems strange, but patches seem to work differently on consoles. Can't say for sure how it works, but it seems to be more of a "supplement of files" rather than changing...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Lack of good cards, or simply lack of skill? on the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft board.

If you've only got 3 wins in arena it's not the cards. However, as with any card game, knowledge is key. Understanding what cards are good, how the meta of the game is working or even something as si...

@kananon: The problem was never the money, it was direction. It's probably not a coincidence that the company goes through some serious leaderships changes and then half a year later the game finally...

  • Ares42 posted a message on the post Quick Look: Firefall.

I remember having some fun thumping in the beta like a year ago or so, but the crafting game was severly lacking. Wonder if they ever got around to making it more interesting. As for Jeffs interest in ...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Why are there so many silent protagonists? on the General Discussion board.

@believer258: I get why you would find it distracting, but I think you're sorta getting caught up in the little things and missing the big picture. I don't really know how to explain it in a better w...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Why are there so many silent protagonists? on the General Discussion board.

@believer258: well, we could argue back and forth about how well it's done in Half-Life (although it's been way too long since I played that to have any real opinion on the matter). What I was trying...

  • Ares42 posted a message on the post Quick Look: TMNT Training Lair.

That sai game actually looks like a concept that could work for a fun motion-based "dual-stick" shooter.

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Destiny Beta thoughts on the Destiny board.

So apparently the game is cross-platform. With the open beta for everyone I jumped into the game on my PS3, and I could play online with the same characters I had been playing with on my PS4 (which s...
