@eliminator: The daggers are sorta hidden/complex to find.. the scythe.. I don't really know how to explain without spoiling anything :P but ye, don't expect to get either of them handed to you.

@johntunoku: Have you equipped a -durability gem ? The way it's worded it sounds like it just reduces max durability, but what it really does is increase durability loss (drastically).

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Favorite weapon so far?. on the Bloodborne board

Surprised to see so little representation for the Blade(s) of Mercy. I guess they're sorta hidden, but they sure do everything you want and then some. Incredible dash attack, great running attack and...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Am I in the right area? (Spoilers). on the Bloodborne board

You can completely ignore the hunters if you just go straight forward (iirc) once you enter the room, and yes you're in the right area to progress the story. As for Henwick Crossing, go to the henwick...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Can't decide what kind of character to play!. on the Bloodborne board

I did my first run using skill focused weapons and started a second run recently trying strength. While going skill is extremely boring as far as weapon variety goes (there's basically only four skill...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic I think I'm too old for this.... on the Bloodborne board

I would say the thing that really broke my way of thinking was when I started to realize that you can use the dash as an offensive move. Instead of playing the more traditional Souls style of waiting...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic The woes of a passive shield player. on the Bloodborne board

@ragingflower: I think much of the reason why some people say the game is easy is because once you get past Amelia the challenge sorta takes a nosedive. It might just be because that's the fight that...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Visceral Attacks. on the Bloodborne board

The most likely reason you're not always getting the attack is probably because of verticality. The game really doesn't like it if you're not on a somewhat flat surface.

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Is Bloodborne a "Souls" game?. on the Bloodborne board

I would say it's a Souls game in spirit, but it's not part of the franchise.

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic The woes of a passive shield player. on the Bloodborne board

Having just finished the game I'm sorta torn about it. I really wanna jump back in and check out the stuff I know I missed etc, but knowing I'll pretty much play the exact same character, executing m...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Bloodborne tips, tricks and hints (spoiler free). on the Bloodborne board

This shouldn't come as news to people who played this way in the Souls games, but due to the forced playstyle health and stamina has pretty much switched roles. Early in the game your stamina really d...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Are From facing a potential COD issue with future games?. on the Bloodborne board

@fredchuckdave: So if we see Dark Souls 3 coming out from their B team again next year (as I'm pretty sure Miyazaki won't return to it) you don't think that'll just drive the franchise into the ground...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic Are From facing a potential COD issue with future games?. on the Bloodborne board

I wouldn't be so sure there will be another "Souls" game. If anything it will be as you say a Bloodborne sequel (although, you have to remember that this is yet another Demon's to Dark situation), an...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic I have never played a souls game before.. on the Bloodborne board

@fear_the_booboo: In the Souls games the general rule was that you want to parry after the wind-up, as they're swinging, before they hit you (as in, when the animation starts to move towards you). Th...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic New "souls" players calling the game cheap.. on the Bloodborne board

The two things aren't mutually exclusive. You can get good at cheap games, and cheap games usually require that you do so as well. What makes a game cheap or not is if it contiuously tries to fuck you...

  • Ares42 posted a message in the forum topic How much trouble are you having adjusting to Bloodborne?. on the Bloodborne board
