Yet another Hydrophobia re-release. Hydrophobia Prophecy is a Steam and PSN “comprehensive reinvention” release of the original Xbox Live Arcade game. As such, Prophecy features new levels, new puzzles, a re-tooled narrative, and even several technical enhancements like better lighting, textures, and animations.
I never played Hydrophobia, but I have to admit I'm impressed that Dark Energy Digital is so commited to continuously polish a game they've already released.
I'm in two minds about this as I think the feedback system is good, but at the end of the day you should really make the game you want to make as if you continue to question your own artistic integrity you'll have no confidence to create something unique and special.
That's also an interesting issue. I'm especially disturbed by the idea of voting with regard to story elements. Story above all else should be the product of a tight group of people. Last thing we want is our games ending up like addventures.
Am I the only one who thinks this might actually be fun? I mean, I'll never be a tester, not for video games, anyway, maybe for pies or other pastries, but not games.
So give me a chance to praise and whine about a game now and then! It might be an enjoyable experience. If it's not, I'll record that and move on with my life and my pile of AAA titles I haven't played yet.
The name "hydrophobia" has been tainted. Even if they fixed it, the name alone will scare people off. It's time they made something new.
I don't know. If that is completely true, then Dynasty Warriors wouldn't be on it's 37th release without any major changes to its formula.
You do realize Dynasty Warriors has been, is, and continues to be one of the most popular franchises in Japan, right? North America isn't the only continent on the planet.

Other continents? Whaa? My inferior American brain cannot comprehend your fancy arguments. ... Anyways, I personally enjoy Dynasty Warriors, much like this Japan you speak of, but it seems to get really harsh reviews IN North America, much like Hydrophobia....yet they keep releasing Dynasty Warriors games in North America. My point being that, as an example, a publisher will sometimes stick to their product, even if it only reaches a niche audience.
