Infamous Second Son is the game for you if you ever wanted to be a super hero or villain with awesome powers
Infamous Second Son clearly has ambitions to be a lot more serious and grounded than the PlayStation 3 Infamous games, but even with the deeper political undercurrent in the story, this is still a comic book story at heart and it's surprisingly a good one , with great character's like Reggie and Fetch , you well want to finish the main story which is short to see how everything ends, . It's a shame that the side quests are dull and boring, they feel like they were copy and pasted into every single area of the game, don't get me wrong the side quests are very fun when the game opens up but they become very boring and dull doing the same thing again and again.
The new protagonist, Delsin Rowe, is not just another teenage douche bag with a spray can: he can absorb the powers of other conduits with super powers simply by touching them.
The opening of the game is great and really sets up everything very nicely, Delsin quickly learns new superpowers and certainly enjoys using them a lot more than his predecessor, Cole McGrath. It's not long before you are causing chaos in an amazingly beautiful detailed downtown Seattle, in a fight against the oppressive Department of Unified Protection.
The combat against the enemy forces is awesome, as you can creatively utilise your powers to both attack and evade anyway you want. Smoke powers enable Delsin to use vents to dive into the base of a building and hurtle out from the roof, taking shots at opponents as you glide down to a nearby rooftop, and then as the game opens up more you gain even more useful powers that you can use against enemy forces.
There's also a great sense of freedom to tackle situations differently and you get many opportunities to use Delsin's frenetic speed and climbing abilities and unleashing the devastating "Karma Bombs" is also a real treat for the eye's to see when all hell rains down on the enemy forces.
The Moral choices in the game offer very simplistic decisions between hero or villain, but they don't impact the action or story disappointingly.
The dull and boring side quests aside , just concentrating on the spectacular action is more than enough to have a great time, and as you unlock more powers it's hard not to share Delsin's enthusiasm for his awesome powers.
