Inindo: Way of the Ninja, Inindo Datou Nobunaga in Japan, is a fantasy JRPG that is based loosely on a real period of Japanese history: the Warring States Era. The player must defeat the tyrannical daimyo Oda Nobunaga before he can conquer all of Japan. Instead of an army, the player controls a small band of heroes and mercenaries who fight turn-based battles and explore dungeons. Many of the game's dungeons are optional, but the player must take risks if they hope to be leveled enough to take out Nobunaga before the game's time limit expires.

Koei developed and published the game for many home systems as a companion for their Nobunaga's Ambition series of strategy war sims set in the same period, but with a far more realistic depiction of the era. It was eventually remade with better graphics for the Super Nintendo, where it is known as Super Inindo Datou Nobunaga in Japan.
