    You can also try and run it straight from the .exe and not from steam. The exe somewhere in  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common  if i'm not mistaken.

    @demontium: Did you try right-clicking the .exe and changing it to some other type of compatibility mode? XP SP2 would probably be the best option.

    Dude, awesome. I honestly didn't expect it to work, only because it's usually the first thing I try when a game isn't working right, but it almost never works for me. Anyways that's cool that you got it working now. I have good memories of Jade Empire on the original Xbox back in the day. I kinda wanna play it again now.   :P
