Joel Zimmerman (often known by his stage name deadmau5) is a Canadian DJ, most noteworthy for wearing a gigantic mouse head during live shows. He contributed a great deal of music to Grand Theft Auto:Chinatown Wars, both under the deadmau5 name and BSOD. The logo for the electronic music station is that of his notorious mouse head and the station is referred to simply as "DEADMAU5" in the game's manual. Zimmerman also provided a remix that can be heard in GTA IV, on the radio station Electrochoc.
In addition to contributing music to games, Zimmerman is also a noted video-game enthusiast himself. A "Legend of Zelda" remix is often featured in his live sets and he has stated via twitter and other social messaging sites that he is a fan of "Torchlight" and "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves".
DJ Hero 2
It has been announced that Zimmerman will be appearing in DJ Hero 2 as a playable character. In addition, his song "Ghosts N Stuff" was mixed with Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" as a promotional mix for owners of the original game. This mix was featured in the first trailer for DJ Hero 2, which prominently featured Zimmerman wearing his trademark red mau5head.
