Keiichiro Toyama joined Konami in 1994 as a graphic artist. Many years later, he created and directed Silent Hill in 1999. It is the only game in the series he has ever worked on before leaving Team Silent to work on another Survival Horror series called Siren. In 2012, he released the critically acclaimed Gravity Rush for the PlayStation Vita.
Misc Facts
- Toyama is known to occasionally go drinking with Yoko Taro and is said to be extremely funny whilst drunk.
- When asked on Twitter in 2014, Toyama said that he cannot imagine going back to Silent Hill as he has since moved on to other projects.
- Again on Twitter, he said he had no idea why or how he was appointed to direct Silent Hill, suggesting maybe because he "was a creepy person."
