A bow is just one of several weapon types Pit can use in the game. They haven't removed anything, they're just expanding Pit's arsenal. As for the new style, this game is in some ways very much what I kind of wanted out of a new Kid Icarus game before it was announced, so I'm happy with the direction.

His primary weapon in historical canon is a Daewoo USAS-12 automatic shotgun.

Not many people know that.
