    Light Up Crosshair

    Concept »

One of the smaller innovations in the gaming industry was making the player's targeting reticle change colours depending on the situation.

    Short summary describing this concept.

    Overview

A helpful development in making games user friendly, this helps the player know when they've got their shot centered by turning a grey reticle red while it's held over an enemy. More recent changes to this concept include making the reticle only turn red when the player is capable of hitting the enemy with their currently equipped weapon, turning the reticle green when held over a friendly character, or adding a dot to the center of the reticle when it is held over an enemy's head, signifying a one-hit-kill headshot.
