Lionel Messi is a soccer player for FC Barcelona. He is considered by many to be the best player in the world. In 2011, he signed a multi-year deal with EA Sports to become the new face of the best-selling FIFA Soccer franchise.

He joined Barcelona when he was 11 because they were the only team willing to pay for his growth hormone treatments. He made his first team debut when he was 16 years old. He would soon draw comparisons with Diego Maradona after scoring goals that were reminiscent of the Argentine legend. In 2009 he was named Fifa World Player of the year after a great season in which Barcelona won three trophies and Messi scored 38 goals. In the 2009-2010 season, Messi scored a stunning 47 goals. One of his most memorable performances was a Champions League game against Arsenal, where he scored all four Barcelona goals. This performance forced many people to call Messi one of the greatest goals of all time, despite only being 22.
