    This doesn't belong to X-Men franchise just because there are X-Men characters.

    I could see it going either way, as I remember the X-Men play a role in the story no? Games can be classified under two franchises, I'd say this plays to both Marvel and the more specific X-Men group, but I haven't played it in a while.
