i have yet to get into a game of this online. failed to join game session is all i see. all day now. ive tried at least 50 times and not got in one. anyone else?

I didn't have problems this morning. It did fail like 3 times before it deemed me worthy though.

The ranked matchmaking is totally jacked up. I can only play with people through lobbies. 

Street Fighter was the same way. The only way I could ever get into a match was create my own lobby.

Don't worry it's been that for a bit. I would say wait a couple of days.

I've been able to get into Ranked matches via custom search, quick match fucks up 100% of the time though.

ranked still isnt working but you are right. i can play unranked games by going into a lobby. lame

The same thing happened on street because so many people were joining through quick match's, that every time you joined a game it had already been filled

I really wish the netcode for Capcom games wasn't ass. 

Much like SF4 and SSF4 I have to use custom search on ranked matches to find people. I haven't tried fight request yet, but that worked almost all the time in SSF4 before ending my first AI match.

well PSN side is sorta fuked up aswell. like 1/2 the time nothing connects. and i'm PRETTY SURE theres people looking for a fight.

tried again. still cant connect in any way shape or form to ranked games.

Go into training / arcade mode with fight requests turned on. Works like a charm. 
 
Edit: I didn't mean that to sound snarky, haha. Basically, it's a viable workaround to a problem that sucks but will eventually work itself out (hopefully).

Yeah, lobby searching is the only sure thing right now. Everything else for me is a one-sided gamble.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having this problem.  I guess it's back to training mode. LOL!

The online in this game is utter garbage right now. All options lead to "disconnected from the host" messages. I'm trying not to get pissed by hoping that Capcom will update this shit.  
You can't even create a ranked match lobby in this game. The only way to do it is to go into Arcade Mode and wait for a request. How stupid is that? 
 
SF4 has been around for two years, and they just ignored everything they supposedly learned from those games? Everyone loved Championship Mode in SF4 and they removed it in SSF4. Everyone loved being able to watch the matches while in a lobby in SSF4 and it's completely removed in MvC3. Along with the inability to create a simple Ranked Match lobby, what the fuck, Capcom?

Just like SF4, the best way to fight, as mentioned, is to turn on fight request in either arcade or training mode, or go into endless lobbies.
  
I'm not excusing it; it's bullshit, but it's how Capcom games work, unfortunately.

i havent even found where to turn on fight requests. ive look all over. where can i enable that?

Still haven't been able to get in to a ranked game online. and it's not for lack of trying.

i can get into a few during lunch hours....not as busy I suppose.  It takes 3 times tho...get failed to join game 2 times and then it works.  Every single time.  After work, however, it does not work at all.

 So I've tried a few dozen times by now, total, and have yet to be able to joina single ranked game. I once got in to a lobby, and waited around to play one round, but that's it.
