So what was wrong with the final boss?

To me it was necessary for the story, and even if the boss design was unoriginal, I enjoyed the implications of it.

I believe that is the original design for the human reaper, which is, quite frankly, a lot better. The actual mechanics of the fight were fine, although nothing really to write home about (shoot the glowing supports!), but my problem with it was just how impractical the model was for a spaceship, and how familiar it was for alien technology.

I thought it was antic climatic, it was a weird boss that you had never seen before and went down quickly.

the battle itself was pretty underwhelming, but i'd forgotten all about it since my first playthrough and upon seeing it during my second i was pumped bro! it was actually pretty disturbing for a mass effect game.

Yeah! I don't remember anything about actually fighting it (but I'm replaying it right now so I'll get to relive the magic), but thinking back all that comes to mind is that it looked great and animated really well.
