Fitting end to Snake's story
I should start off by saying that this is not just my favorite PS3 exclusive, its also my favorite game of all time. I made the stupid decision of buying and playing this game before the others, that was when I didn't know the games were that story based. I was still blown away from playing this game the first time it was amazing to me even if I didn't know to much of the story. ( I knew the basics and characters) Though when I played after I played through the rest of the series, my mind exploded from how incredible and cinematic this game is.
The gameplay is much faster than in the others and there is so much customization. I've played through the about six times, always using a new tactic each time like say, a sniper or complete stealth. Plus sneaking is made easier yet still challenging enough to be fun, and if you cant find a stealthy route, you can always shoot your way out.
The story is so epic and conclusive, it had so many shocking story moments. Plus the best cutscene in video game history plays at the end of Act 3. Speaking of acts, they are a very good feature to include since it lets Snake travel the world in a nice level like structure, and each act ends with the best boss fights in a shooter style game.
Now one of my favorite features of the game, the soundtrack. The sneaking music is amazing, the action themes are amazing and my favorite song ever in a video game is the main theme. And there so many other songs to mention including one of my other favorites, Violent Cease Fire.
I cannot make a review of this game without mentioning the amazing graphics. They are absolutely breath taking and the only technical hiccup I found was small framerate issues.
Overall this is a spectacular game, the amazing gameplay tied with amazing graphics and some of the best music in a video game, all wrapped up in an incredible storyline and cutscenes. MGS4 is a incredible feat in the gaming medium, it has everything I could ever want in a video game and it does it all with flying colors . If I had to describe MGS4 in one word I will always have the same answer: Masterpiece.
