Konami Pegs Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for November 8
Well...the pc version of mgs1 was in hd, and it looked rather great. Wayyy better than the ps1 version. Why not release it?
I have all of those already, and while the PS2 versions look crappy upscaled via 60GB PS3 on an HDTV, it looks just fine on a CRT with component cables. If it was less money, it would be more of a deal for me, but for those without these fine titles it sounds great.
So, the release date wasn't already announced? I saw it up on Gamestop and Amazon last week. Either way, cool. Totally getting it.

Ok awesome, but is thie original MGS on PSN going to be a remade HD version or just the original?
I'm pretty sure it is a PS1 Classics, so just the original PS1 Version. Surprised they don't give you a voucher to download MGS1 when you buy the collection, even if it is the original PS1 Version.
Glad Patrick didn't forget that Silicon Knights-developed MGS: Twin Snakes remake. Considering all other games in the compilation run on modified MGS2 tech, they REALLY should've included Twin Snakes alongside 'em. It's a fantastic game. I'm assuming it's Nintendo's fault somehow; they seem to be doing a good job of screwing up everything these days anyway ;)
It's not smart of them to drop this during the holiday season though. Should've held off until January or February. With games like those stupid, disposable, unbelievably overhyped, nearly identical-looking military shooters coming out, as well as Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Batman, etc. there's no way the traditional MGS demographic will have this on their radars before snatching up any of those other games.
considering what Kojima has said in the past, shouldn't Peace Walker be renamed MGS5, since it fits all of the prerequsites he said beforehand?
I've had this pre-ordered from GameStop for at least two months now, with them claiming the release day was November 8th the whole time. I didn't even know it was in question.
I got the PS3 version because I have no clue how the 360 is going to handle the pressure-sensitive buttons in a way that doesn't change the controls completely, and I don't like change associated with my HD makeovers of old favorites.
Too bad Patrick, Peace Walker is one of the best MGS games. The experience was great regardless of a second analog stick. Still, I'll be getting this HD Collection because I want to play MGS2 and MGS 3 in HD.

This is actually an incredibly astute observation. I totally forgot about the whole "let go of square slowly to put the gun down without firing" bit of those games.
I remember Twin Snakes on the GameCube had you do some convoluted series of button presses to lower a firearm without shooting. Ugh. I don't want to go through that again, but I also don't have much of a choice!
I already have MGS 1-3, so that means the only thing I don't have is Peace Walker. At this point, I might as well purchase a PSP for dirt cheap, buy all the games I'd want to play for dirt cheap, then flash the firmware so I can run emulators 'n stuff. Foolproof!
Definitely looking forward to this. Maybe I'll just go through a marathon and play MGS 1 - 4 all over again >_>;;;
There is already a remake of Metal Gear Solid, "Twin Snakes" for the Game Cube. Why didn't they include it in the package? Some copyright issues might be behind this omission I'm afraid. Or some other cheap profit reason anyway.
I didn't know they were putting the MSX games on here too, that's cool. Glad it's coming out soon, might even put off Uncharted 3 for these. My PS3 collection is comprised of more PS2 upressed games than actual PS3 games, so good.
All I care about is MGS3. That game is truly epic. Wasn't good till Subsistence due to camera issues, however. MGS1 is a milestone but the third game is simply amazing. I love all the talk about VHS tapes, Godzilla, CQC, crazy bees, that sniper boss, and most of all...snake eating. Can't. Freaking. Wait.
@BBQBram: I feel you on that one dude. I still have my copy of Twin Snakes. So I will still be picking up this collection.

I played all four games for the first time back-to-back and was really bummed out when MGS4 didn't have any eating mechanics in it. Seriously!
I want to collect all my enemies in peace walker, and be given a trophy for it. That's how I roll, when I'm not rage quitting.
