Organising a clan match with a friend is extremely tough if that friend is seriously stubborn. Whilst I say that there should be no particular rules (other than no glitching), he argues that as a rule, there should be no grenade launchers, shotguns, or rocket launchers allowed. The problem I have personally is that our clan leader uses rocket launchers, and I use a shotgun, so it doesn't exactly seem fair. I tell him that, and he says that 'it isn't a rule that I made up. Every non-noob (yes, he said that) knows about it. Just go on any video games website.'
 So, I have two questions for you:
   A) Are we only allowed to use handguns/machine pistols for clan matches?
   B) Are there any personal rules that you would want in every Clan Match?

By that logic, you might as well outlaw assault rifles, machine guns, killstreaks, sub machine guns, red dot sights, acog scopes, thermal scopes, silencers, and shotgun attachments.

I agree. Using RPGs and Shotguns in MW2 is bullshit. The shotguns are overpowered as shit and the RPG just takes away any skill...

He also tried to outlaw killstreaks, TAR-21 (because only I use it within the clan match, they said it was 'big headed' of me to use a different gun), acog scopes, thermal, flash and stun grenades, and shotgun attachments.

If you are playing a video game and the only way for the game to be competitive is to create a list of rules that exist outside of the game itself, then you are better off not playing that game. 
 
Lucky for you, Modern Warfare 2 is not that kind of game!  In fact, almost every strategy has some kind of counter!  Don't like the RPG?  Use the blast shield, and you can take an RPG to the face and survive!  I could go on forever!

when i played a clan game, we all agreed no akimbo, and 2 grenade launchers/team 
none of us used grenade launchers anyway but that worked fine

In my opinion, the general rules of a clan match should be play by the rules, don't use glitches, and use whatever setup you want. If someone's owning you with theres then just copy it. This just in, YOU CAN DO THAT.
