    Can't we choose neither?  From the screens I've seen so far, Infinity Ward knows nothing of the geography of Washington D.C., including the White House lawn (which they depict to be a hilly terrain)

    It's called digging a trench. Like, in a war. 
     
    And 'splosions making craters. 
     
    You don't see someone keeping a lawn green and level during combat, do you?
