    Moon Children

    Concept »

The Moon Children are the children Link can see run around the surface of the moon in his vision. Four of the children running around wear the masks of the bosses that Link has defeated in Termina, while the last one sitting down wears the Majora's Mask.

    Overview

The Moon Children appear in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Link discovers them on the surface of the moon in a vision of a grassy field. Four children are seen running around a while are wearing the masks of past defeated bosses of Termina. A fifth child is seen sitting down by the tree, and he wears Majora's mask. The children are identical and appear to be male. The four children running around the tree will ask Link for different amounts of masks he has collected throughout his journey. If Link gives a child enough masks, the child then agrees to play hide-and-seek with him. Link is then transported to a dungeon-like setting. Depending on the game the children envision, Link will either be Deku Link, Goron Link, Zora Link, or Hylian Link. After Link is able to complete the four "games" and speaks to the fifth child, the child will give Link the Fierce Diety's Mask, the most powerful transformation mask in the game. Curiously, the children also seem to relate to the Happy Mask Salesman. It is noted that they have similar hair and one of them does ask Link if he will also become a Happy Mask Salesman.
