Watching Brad and Jeff play Mortal Kombat II during our SNES-a-thon last Friday brought back some real memories, like that time I was briefly the King of the Arcade at my local quarter eating establishment. That lasted all of an hour, when someone's Scorpion wiped the floor with me.

Ah well.

I'll be able to relive such embarrassments next week when the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection (not arkade?) arrives on both Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC next week.

As per the regular delivery schedule, the compilation arrives on PSN one day ahead of XBLA. The PC version arrives on Wednesday, as well.

Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection includes Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, with online play, leaderboards, and achievements/trophies for all three games.

I wish UMK3 wasn't taken off the marketplace so I could just keep playing that, but I'll buy this for the hopefully rejuvenated community.

No joke. MK9 would've been my new go-to online fighting game had they not made one of the worst online fighting games of all-time. Now Street Fighter III is. And that's awesome. But MK Arcade Kollection should have GGPO just like SFIII does. There's NO reason they shouldn't have it. It's the best out there and requires a bit of extra memory, which older games like SFIII definitely have since they're just older games, ported to a newer console.

Highly doubt they will though. But I think I'll skip Arcade Kollection anyway. UMKIII is fun, but after MK9, I kind of can't go back to the way things used to be.

I'm confused as to why people would want this when MK9 is out. Might just be a nostalgic thing that I don't understand, since I've never played these games.

If people are excited for it whatever, that's cool, I'll stick with MK9.

I'm sort of done with Mortal Kombat. I guess I'm just not as much of a sucker for gore as I once was and that's really all these games are good for.

Mortal kombat Had a crap fighting system that did not hold a candle to real fighting games like street fighter 2 or the first 1993 virtua fighter  anyway so nobody gives a fuck how much you suck at it anyway the fighting is not balanced and it is as stiff as driving a cement truck in mud., 

The only point of it is not mash buttons then do the fucking fatality at the end then giggle Because playing the game is stiff and slow and sucks balls and it has nothing else going for it. 
 
The game was horrible then and still is to this day and if it was not for a bunch of  kids  obsessed with seeing blood fly out of peoples bodys in unrealistc amounts  it would have ended up in a coffin with all the other crap fighting games of the 90's that could not keep[ up with street fighter 2 and that was 90% of them. 
 
 Every time I fucking see the new mortal kombat it looks more lame and sucks more every time i see it like it is stuck in some 1990's time warp from hell and the old games look more dated and lame every single day.;  
 
 
The eries always looked like some kind of fucking  B-movie level low budget  Power rangers tv show rip off  with blood and gore  for 12 year olds who was the goth phase or punk teens of the 90's listening to  grunge music (or worse horrible hip hop if you lived in one of those getto places)  and the horrible movies did not help in removing that image and looking at the snes version just brings back how stupid the entire craze was like other dumb 90's  things that was popular and stupid like pokemon  and tamagotchis was. 
 
The entire  goverment people like joe liberman getting pissed off at lame crap like this and night trap in the 90's  was laughable since it was so stupid I felt even more like a nerd and not cool playing it in the fucking arcade than I did all the other games at the arcade I did not want anybody to see me playing this stupid fighting game.

I know they kind of have to have it in because it's a collection, but can't actually imagine anyone who wan't to compete in the first MK online.
 
I guess when "PC" is specified that it doesn't mean that there is a MAC release.
