Reptile's theme song created by Skrillex

#1 Posted by ashriels (151 posts) -

I was pretty excited by this news, this song is insannnne!

I love this music, not gonna lie though I do not know much about the game or if the music will be consistent with this style.

Regardless, it makes me want to play the game now and see how they use it.  If you like this I highly suggest checking out his other music on youtube.

Fucking amazing man, Toasty!

#5 Posted by Slaker117 (4843 posts) -

Does it make me old if I say that just sounded like noise?

#6 Posted by litrock (170 posts) -

Man, I'd really love it if they put out another MK concept album like they did around the time of the movie and all the music was of this quality.

For reference, this is the hilarious nonsense they're competing with:

I'm with you on this one. Maybe we can be old together.

@litrock: Oh, there IS no competing with that album.

The Immortals locked up the MK music scene with this song here. Scorpion's rap destroys all comers

I'm not sure if this track will be in the game. They're releasing an "inspired by the fighters" album next week, and this track comes from that.

It's pretty good.

Reptile Skrillex track is pretty rad.  I am partial to the Mileena one from Tokimonsta , I even bought it off itunes.  I hope MK supports custom soundtarcks on PS3. Liu Kang's is sic also.

Liu Kangs is pretty awesome. I really dig Baraka's Theme too.

some good tracks for sure, but ive also heard that there are more songs on the album than just those... and it should be noted that this isn't an OST to the game, just songs that were inspired by the characters.

skrillex has some good stuff

#21 Posted by ThatFrood (3396 posts) -

I've realized that all of LA Riots' music sounds the exact same to me.
That being said, Goro's and Baraka's themes are my favorites.

AOL Music put like a preview soundtrack up or something, you guys can listen to it here:

EDIT:  Whoops, I'm about an hour too late.   Sanious already posted the AOL Album in this thread and I guess I missed it.   Anyway, so many of these songs are sweet as hell!

I keep hearing different things, but from my understanding, there's two versions of this CD, best buy and amazon.  Kano is the exclusive for amazon and Kitana is the exclusive for best buy.  Also, the Shao Kahn and Johnny, etc theme for each cd is different.

Also, im hearing that someone has the CD and that there are actually more tracks than that, but they aren't elaborating on it, so it might just be liessssss and deceit lol

FACT:  The Venn Diagram for electronica fans and Mortal Kombat fans is one circle.

No guys I totally didn't just wet my pants. Goddamn I love me some dubstep.

#30 Edited by Slaker117 (4843 posts) -

Man, I guess I just don't get electronic music. I'm not trying to hate, and I've actually enjoyed quite a few electronic tracks from video games, but I find a lot of the stuff here to be abrasive. There are some nice beats, but the sounds they use to make them are not pleasant. Maybe that's the point? I don't know, but if it's physically uncomfortable to listen to something, I won't. That being said, I'm totally fine with loud music. Weird.

EDIT: Ok, gave it a second shot after seeing Jeff's tweet about his favorites. Skipped around on first listen, but now I have to agree, Goro's theme is pretty awesome. The rest I'm still not really into though.

#31 Posted by guiseppe (2842 posts) -

Awesome stuff. All of it.

#32 Posted by GeekDown (1170 posts) -

It's fucking insane. I must have listened to it 100 times now.

#33 Posted by Sanious (793 posts) -
@xhavoc86: I only heard one Laidback Luke song and that was the remix of MSTRKRFT's 'Heartless'. Love it too, so I hope that track is legit as well.

This album is pretty solid over all, there are tracks that I find 'weaker' than others but I don't really dislike any of them.
#34 Posted by SlightConfuse (3963 posts) -

the full soundtrack is really awesome, going to get it when it comes out

#38 Posted by RiotBananas (3600 posts) -

Guys I have a favour to ask, this album isn't released in the UK yet and I really can't be wait for a high quality version of Reptile's Theme, so I was wondering if someone who has bought the song from Amazon MP3 could PM me and then send me the song in an email?

That'd be super.
