    Dude- take mass effect out of the equation (already dealt with that last year) and replace it with demons souls and i am in the same position as you in every way - maybe worse as i have the spec ops , veteran runs, and multiplayer of both ps3 and 360 mw2 on the go  What a time to be a gamer :)

    Favela is the name of the map after no russian  Are you on the pc version?  If so then maybe the map file for that particular mission didnt install properly, have a browse through the cd to the map folder or level folder and copy everything from it to the relevant folder on the hard drive you installed it to.  If you're on console then i really dont know ^_^

New arrival to the family

No of course i'm not talking about a child, still far too young for that stuff yet!!!

I finally swung by and picked up my very first microsoft console, in this case a 360 elite ^_^.

I am a little late coming to the party i guess but with the majority of my friends being ps3 owners and the ps3 exclusives being more appealing i've never saw reason to pick up a 360, - i'm not going to go into much detail because the initial story is also in the above posted link - but using your knowledge, and recommendations i managed to do a bit of haggling and pick up quite a bargain.

Initially the only deal i could find was either an elite + fable 2 for £260 , or an elite + extra controller + resi5 for £220.
Whilst i wanted to get fable 2 anyway, i thought this was a bit steep for just the console and the game, and the other bundles extra controller was tempting, i've already got resi5 for the ps3 and done that game to death, so it was a bit of a no go.

I was beginning to lose hope at this point, as i was unable to find a bundle that was sating all of my needs  -cursing my american brethren for their fantastic bundles i strolled past my little used gamestation, sighed and walked in.

Im glad i did.

I walked out of there, with :-

  • Black elite
  • All hdmi cables etc
  • Headset
  • Extra controller + headset
  • Burnout paradise
  • Trivial pursuit (it came with the bundle ok!)
  • Mass effect
  • Fable 2
  • Gears of war
  • Gears of war 2
  • Left 4 dead

All for £240!

It did in totall come to £270 when i payed for 3 years insurance with the shop covering absolutely everything -as in -if it red ringed i could take it to them and theyd replace it for me.

So for 3 years cover, and seeing as i'd saved well over £150 already, i figured that was a sweet deal.

Even better was when i got home and realised that as soon as i logged on, microsoft offered me a years Gold membership for £34. I of course jumped at the offer, and was damn surprised as to how easy setting everything up was.

Of course no introduction would be complete without pictures, so here's my new baby sat beside her brother -my ps3 - and they are getting along swimmingly :D





Funnily enough no one console is getting all of the attention, which im pleased at, after a lengthy few hours left 4 dead session last night, i was able to sink my teeth into a couple of hours of killzone 2 and penny arcade  -having both consoles worth of exclusives is - at this moment -close to perfection.
And talking to my friends on party chat whilst they were playing something completely different was an eye opener for me!! although i still kinda prefer the ps3's text entry system)

So anyway - now i own both consoles and look forward to playing my 360 as heavily as i have my ps3 over the past 2 years, i have changed my stance to neutral (only reason being sony before was i only had a ps3) -and would love to add as many of you guys as possible to show me the ropes/destroy me.

Anyway, thats my new baby! im an overjoyed owner - thanks for reading and have a lovelyday ^^

im going to be picking up Street fighter 4 and killzone 2 (duh) however im also going to be picking up silent hill homecoming - whioch finally gets a ps3 EU release date, and was going to be getting Rock band 2, however predictably its been pushed back by 2 months >:(

And it fits like a glove, was a bit of a mission getting it all the way over here in england, but the guys were good, kept contact over email and its hipped pretty darn quickly!!

I was admittedly a little worried as to  what the overall quality of the shirt would be, but it looks fantastic, feels nice ot wear and generally my concerns were unfounded.
I dont normally wear white clothing, but ill make an exception for this one :D 

Just in time for the holidays as well so i can confuse absolutely everybody who will have no idea what on earth the shirt is, which is nice!

Alright so a while back i posted up a thread about the future of consoles and directions they were heading -

This promply led to the discussion about a one console future and everything surrounding it -- which in turn led to everyone deciding that a one console future was bad all round

Bad for games
Bad for the industry
Bad for quality
Bad for how much we'd get raped financially

So taking that into account - how come we seem to be continually bitching eachother out and using our game preferance as some kind of e-penis boosting tool
Theres nothing wrong with having a console prefearnce - and taking pride in the good that occurs - however ripping someone for it  - imho is pointless and unnacetable

I for example dont have a taste for the wii - i can see the appeal and understand why people like it- but im not going to take the mick whenever one of their games doesnt sell well - or changes exclusivity - in fact you didnt see wii users going
"OMFGWTFBBQ WE GOTZ DEAD RISING ! XBOTZ ARE CRYINGLOLZ!"

I cant see how we can all agree that each consoles existance is necessary - and then proceed to make life as hard as possible for eachother - and generally miserable.

I worked damn hard and still do, i work 42 hours a week in a job i hate, but each time i turn my ps3 and play with my mates, it makes it all worhtwhile -and i damn well dont appreciate some guy with a napoleon complex using my decision as a reason to boost himself above his schoolboy paranoia.

Everyone is entitled to the same right - so the question is - do you think a lot of the troll flaming is necessary - do you think we should all respect eachother a bit more and appreciate what we have?

And if so, what can we do about it as a gaming community>?

So im browsing the playstation euro forums, nothing unusual there - and come across a post which - quite frankly - blew my mind , it was incredible , heres a snippet for thos skimming :-

So after a few random forumers posted that this bloke was clearly insane and not quite right in the head, the forum began to settle down again - at this point i began to do a little investigating and discovered that this chap was actually deaf, which may have had some bearing on him seeming stark raving mad.

Looking at his other forum posts everyone had been going 
"English or GTFO" to this guy

So i decided to inform the thread that theres no need to flame this guy, hes just not great with the language being deaf and all - so that we could all group hug and stuff :-

"No - this guys is deaf apparently (said in another post) may account for the illegibility - feel kinda bad however - every post hes made has been responded to by people going english or **bleep**! :s" 

feeling relatively good about myself i went off ot play some wipeout -and returned to something quite different to what i had pictured - my well meaning comment had been derailed  - by some mishap i had inadvertantly used the word 'Omega' as i do in all my names , this is seemingly a red rag to our hard of hearing friend -who decided there and then i WAS or at very least WAS AN ASSOCIATE - of whoever this "raideromega13" was - and therefore - officially in line for a special tongue lashing!:-

"Your Friend RaiderOmega13 with OmegaPirate cheat now bye ..... Lock Block ID member "Omega" anymore game COD4 play onlines 
 you talk Bastards, OmegaPirate angry happen Forum about Cheat game block.  
  Found your name same that block ID PS3 now ....you lose friends kick out anymore game Block Bye....
 
 why you name Omega get out cheat baby suck your thumb....
  Bye OMEGA crap game love cheat kids Block now .... KICK OUT COD4 remember called "OMEGA" anymore see "OMEGA" ID go BLOCK you lose will problem fool they will find over OMEGA soon 1 days happen GoodBye."

So there you have it folks! rule number one of the internet - Do not try - for even the best laid plans of mice and men - are fucked up by a deaf guy with a keyboard and a napoleon complex.

And RaiderOmega13  -my advice to you -whoever and wherever you are, if you ever see someone sporting a hearing aid? run - run far!
