Ideal for tripping, and its a fun game too
This was the first PSone game I ever owned, and unfortunately I was around 9 at the time. Needless to say I really didnt get the appeal as I was realy only interested in playing Crash bandicoot and Spyro the dragon over and over again.
That said I randomly started playing the game a decade later and I have to say...WTF! Seriously, this game is psychedelic!
STORY:
I recall the story being something like theres bugs inside people, and your in a spaceship (or is it Bodyship...???) that is to be shrunk down and injected into people so that you can get rid of the bugs and some crystals.
GAMEPLAY: N20 at its core is an on rails shooter. Except the levels are circular. In the arteries/veins/lymphatics/whatever circular tube your flying through, you are stuck to the wall. That is you can move around but only while attached to the wall. Think of the breakout game on the ipods and youll get it. You go through the levels shooting bugs and crystals while getting some pretty cool powerups.
VISUALS: OK, here is where N20 really shines. The art design is......psychedelic, crazy, words could describe it but its better to see it in action. The walls of the tube your moving through are constantly squirming and contorting, the texturing and colouring go great together. Some parts of some levels do look a bit tame bu thats only in comparison to the rest of the game.
SOUND: The soundtrack is by the Crystal Method, and if you have/get the disc verion you can play it on a CD player and actually rip the songs on itunes. The tracks are all very good and if you like electronic music its not to be missed. My favourites include High Roller, Trip like I do and Busy Child.
CONCLUSION: N20 is really made for tripping. This is probably why I didnt get it when I was 9
