I have the Neverwinter Nights Deluxe Edition here, even so the box says its Windows7 and Vista compatible, so far I haven't managed to make it work on Windows Vista. When trying to start the thing, it launches a process background (nwnmain.exe) and then doesn't do anything. Updating to 1.6.9 didn't help either. The tools do seem to work, just not the main game.

Game seems to runs fine in Linux under Wine and on an old Windows98 machine.

Works with Windows 7 32 bit for me. Might need to give it Admin permission to run it.

I can't get the NWN toolset to work with Vista, but I'm pretty sure the game itself ran fine.

I've played NWN on XP, Vista and 7 and so far I've had no problems, so it should work just fine for you, I think :)

I can play NWN Diamond on Windows 7 x64, BUT it's not made well for multi core processors so I can't get many frames on it :(

@Grumbel: Please don't bump a year and a half year-old threads. It's nothing personal it's just the general rule on the forums.

@TheDudeOfGaming: Please tell me how NWN 2 is better than NWN?

Tried that, I switched admin and compatibility on for every NWN related .exe I could find, no luck. Still doesn't start. All files in NWN/logs/ are empty, so no hint that would help debugging from that either.

I have given up on Vista, I'll just play it now in Linux instead, where it works pretty much perfectly in Wine as far as I can tell so far. Now if only the fonts would be bigger when switching to bigger resolution, even their high res font option gives rather tiny fonts.
